A Humble MUSIC Request

Post » Thu Sep 16, 2010 3:27 am

first if I could find the Search function on the forum I might know if this request was already posed. Sorry if it was.

MUSIC. Could we have as perhaps DLC if not at release an alternative music track? Specifically...Heavy Metal ala Manowar but with Jeremy Soule's work.

Thanks.

Great idea! They should get Danny Elfman to do a few tracks.

Just play metal music in the background? Metal would be sooooooooooo terrible for Skyrim.

I disagree with all my will.

FIrst, it hardly fits well.

Secondly, why can't you listen to that by yourself.

And thirdly, licensing music costs money and using that money on something useful, like buying a new coffee maker (or a few hundred) for the animation artists will be way more useful.

I love Metal, but I don't think it would really fit. Disregard that, Metal goes with everything!

I love metal but this is more something (especially you as a console gamer) will have to fix yourself. Hopefully Skyrim will let you play music off your 360 HDD over the game's audio like they did for Oblivion. I remember before I got it for PC slaughtering entire cities to a bunch of upbeat japanese techno.

If you plan on getting it for the PC, it likely won't be much a problem to swap out the in-game music for something that suits your tastes better. All you had to do in Morrowind and Oblivion was place the MP3 files in the appropriate folders. If you are on the console, I can pretty much guarantee that such a DLC will not happen.

Some of it could fit with the game's atmosphere (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=81rcibwfI2o). I wouldn't want Bethesda to include it in the game, though

Oh I will I WILL...but I think JS's score deserves a metal variant. Willing to pay I am.

DLC containing a metal soundtrack would hardly be a ripoff.

While I love metal as much as the next guy, I don't think that a remake of the soundtrack to sound more metal is necessary. I know I don't want there to be a pop version, or a country version, or a blues version so why should I hope for a metal one? It is just a waste of beths resources in my eyes. Especially when I can just play some metal over it anyways.

Maybe they should just let you put your own music into the game? Then there's no complaints about music at all. You could even have Abba in the background while fighting if you wanted.

@HaloGunner117:
it would only be a waste if few bought it. remember I am suggesting it as a future add on to be sold. This would have no effect on current plans. If it were available for purchase, would you?

If that's a DLC... I'm never buying it.
If that's by default in the game, I'm instantly changing back to some real atmospheric classical music a la Oblivion & Morrowind :)
Jeremy Soule did legendary work there in my opinion.

My opinion is that Metal does not belong in TES, and it never will.
If you praise Metal so much, you should add in Metal songs yourself, I think.

On console: Create playlist. Turn off in-game music. Play playlist on repeat while playing.

On PC: Determine file type and bitrate of in-game music files. Back up said files. Replace with audio tracks of your choice.

Rock on! (Would use Amon Amarth myself, but whatever floats your boat :P) \m/

Don't know about a metal reworking of the score, though. I'm sure Soule would be capable of it, but I'm not sure he'd be inclined.

Metal wouldn't work for in-game music, but this would be a great idea for a bonus soundtrack (audio CD or mp3 release). You know, remixed Skyrim soundtrack. Like an Advent Children to Final Fantasy VII's soundtrack.

It won't happen, but it'd be cool.
