Hunchbacks

Post » Wed Mar 09, 2011 11:14 am

Wouldn't it add to the immersion? To see a monk coming towards you with a hunched back and bended fingers. It would be awsome! Maybe it could also have some sort of benefit? What do you think?

I can't see why not. I wouldn't use a hunchbacked character, but other people might want to. It adds choice, and choice is good.

It'd also be really cool to see a 'Mysterious man', or something of the sort, NPC with a hunged back. Or, as the OP said, a priest. :D

I'm getting fired up....

Not worth the devs spending their time on. I know it wouldn't really take very long, but I'd much rather they added an extra sword into the game or something.

Nahhh, no way! It would be much cooler to change apperance than just having another sword. Plus, it would be creeoy to see a huched backed monk following you, don't you think?

I'd rather have them spend their time making spears.

The point I was trying to make is that of all the things Bethesda could spend their time on in the last 8 or 9 months before release, the option of playing/seeing a hunchback monk would be pretty much at the bottom, Sure, it would be nice, but it's just not top priority.

Why are you obsessed with spears?

Because rather than a hunchbacked monk, I'd prefer my character to look like http://www.google.nl/imgres?imgurl=http://forums.skadi.net/photoplog/images/37458/1_German1.jpg&imgrefurl=http://forum.christogenea.org/viewtopic.php%3Ff%3D27%26t%3D1330&usg=__9CY5rkGPB83encbyoITyVnAkjW0=&h=570&w=400&sz=60&hl=nl&start=0&zoom=1&tbnid=AFqRVW8SpO9b8M:&tbnh=130&tbnw=85&ei=q_FbTcHGEMygOoa_iJ4L&prev=/images%3Fq%3Dgermanic%2Bwarrior%26um%3D1%26hl%3Dnl%26client%3Dfirefox-a%26hs%3D9Qk%26sa%3DN%26rls%3Dorg.mozilla:nl:official%26biw%3D1920%26bih%3D900%26tbs%3Disch:1&um=1&itbs=1&iact=hc&vpx=1475&vpy=303&dur=866&hovh=268&hovw=188&tx=112&ty=127&oei=q_FbTcHGEMygOoa_iJ4L&page=1&ndsp=89&ved=1t:429,r:39,s:0.

On the same topic... can i have one arm less like Tyr (ok it was only the hand)? Can i have one less leg, or why not a third boob like total recall ?

Maybe be beheaded and carry my head like the green knight ? And while there scream "brainnnzzzzz"

Why not ?

I honestly could not care less. If they want to put them in then great. But I will not notice if they are not there. I honestly would rather them spend time on other features.

It would be disturbing and NOT nessecary. Not unlike hunchbacks, but hunchbacks aren't that disturbing. Also, I would like my character to be hunched backed lol. I'm a mage, though.

Mages can be hunchback, but for warriors is a little more problematic, doning on armors found in dungeons will be an exercise in futility, and fiding cool armors an exercise in frustration.
Hunchback where relatively comons in medieval times.

I wouldn't mind hunchbacks in the game (and the ability to create a hunchback NPC).

But...um...no offense...weren't hunchbacks ostracized in the Medieval Period? I mean, people back then probably assumed hunchbacks were demons or being punished by God for what their parents did.

I think character creation options like this would be great. I've played several characters over the years (not just in TES games) with physical disadvantages or deformities of some kind.

Having said that, many would affect equipment use and/or animations, so it's highly unlikely Bethesda will include this level of customisation.

I don't care - I wouldn't use it (although a couple of hunchback NPCs could be cool I suppose). As Succellus said, you might have a problem with armour and such.

I voted no. Honestly, how many hunchbacks in real life do you see? If Bethesda did this, they would want to use it. And I don't really want to see 200+ Hunchbacked NPCs in the game. I guess they could make it it's own race, not playable, and have anywhere from 1 to 10 characters like that, mostly quest related. But for the most part I would say no.

Benefit?

Maybe "pity benefits," where you can avoid fights because nobody wants to pick on the gimp- but aside from that, what possible benefit would being semi-crippled confer? That'd give more of a downside as it interfered with movement and agility.

It depend. (explain!) Explanation: No. Not biased "No, it wouldn't let me be the best and prettiest smith in the Isles," but just plain No.

Well it reachable trough skeleton alternation, since Skyrim will allow use different settings in character body customization its can be at last with mods or for NPC.
Well Oblivion allow skeleton alternation like this.

Yes, medical conditions like osteoporosis would give the player added realism and depth, while enriching gaming experience.
