Hungry, Thirsty, Sleepy, Tired Mods?

I still use Tyler's Hungry, Thirsty, Sleepy, Tired mod

http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/24079

I like this mod, it does what I need a 'real needs' or 'basic needs' mod to do:

If my character does not, eat, drink, sleep and 'rest' (meaning at lower levels I cannot just run endlessly) then he/she suffers decrements to his/her abilities:

Each time you go without food, drink, or sleep you will receive the following penalties:

-1 Agility
-1 Endurance
-1 Strength
-1 Wisdom

Hunger, Thirst, Sleep Deprivation are handled as 'diseases' or temporary effects. Fatigue is merely more potent in the game. It isn't to hard to modify all the rates and sucn in the .INI (if memory serves, I have yet to do that since my return to the game in recent weeks).

It adds two items and two spells to the game:
1) Well key which enables the spell "Get Water" which when cast near a well (these must have all be linked in some place folder by the modder) 'summon' one item. a 1 weight 'potion' called Water. Quaffing one or more of these will always quench your thirst

2) Bedroll (which weighs about 26). When you cast "Open Bedroll" you get a portable bed. "Close bedroll" puts it back into your inventory as long as you are standing on it.

Despite its age and the myraid other mods I have running, it works well. I've never noticed it causing any problems, although I do from time to time notice problems after I install a paritcular newfound mod and find it best to just deactivate it.

Really my only complaint with this mod is that, the sleep-tired and not tired timing is not 'flexible.' One _can_ adjust the needed durations of sleep, and periodicity of needed sleep in the .ini (if I recall), but even then the problem is that: if you try to sleep before you have been awake long enough to be Sleepy, you will not be able to. You'll have to wait.

As we all know it can be difficult to fall asleep if you are wide awake and not the least bit tired, but I do wish their was some degree of flex in this aspect of the mod. For example if you have it set so that yo need 8 hours of sleep in every 24 hours (16 hours of awake -> 8 hours sleep -> 16 hours of awake . . .) then it would be neat if after being awake for 50% of your awake period there was some chance you could fall asleep (instead of just having to wait).

My main reason for this post are three fold. First to just tell people about the mod, which I have now done. I have heard very little discussion of such mods on these forums in the times I've been here.

Second, to ask/prompt a discussion about these type of mods. Am I the only one who really enjoys a 'real needs' mod that makes it requisite to eat, drink, sleep, and 'rest' at a reasonable periodicity? I actually have the impression that I am one of the only players that uses this mod or any similar mod, and surely that cannot be true?

Third, to inquire about similar or related mods that I might want to examine. I did back in the day check a few different 'real needs' mods and always came back to using Tyler's. Other mods I found were even more clunky, added things that were beyond the core function of real needs and/or just didn't seem to work right.

I highly, highly recommend Maskar's http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/37088, which covers hunger, thirst and sleep. It is incredibly customizable via its INI files, and Maskar is actively supporting it and highly responsive to suggestions. It has support for HUD Status Bars and makes it simple to make Mod-added water sources compatible.

I also recommend his hygiene mod, http://oblivion.nexusmods.com/mods/42038, which covers bathing and toilet needs (and set off a rash of toilet related mods on Nexus, which was kinda funny).
