Hunted.

I got to thinking of that article that talked about Dragon AI. It was really cool reading that dragons will stalk and hunt you, like you might not evening know they are watching.

It got me to thinking about bounties and how cool it would be if you had someone hunting you down through the world. I don't mean scripted ambushes but he is actually traversing the world, on you'r tail, looking for people who have seen you and following you'r trail through wilderness.

How scary would it be to know a big Nord or Orc is hunting you down? Or Argonian assassins are watching you from the shadows. That Bosmer that you've been noticing following you around town? Who knows what he plans on doing once you walk into a quiet alley.

It adds a sense of paranoia to the game.

Just a random thought really.

It would be even cooler if you are outed as a Vampire or Werewolf.

Being hunted as a werewolf would be so bad ass.

Yeah I would love it. On a few rare occassions only. Powerful dragons feeling your presence and hunting you would be awesome :)
Also, in dungeons; it would be awesome if you on some occassions venture this empty dungeon. But the further in you go, the more you realize that you're not alone; and something is following you, watching you... in the shadows.
Like that big spider we saw in the GI, perhaps? :)

But as I said, being hunted should be on rare occassions. I want to be able to feel safe too

I was thinking a lot about this too. It would really cool if NPCs used stealth and things like that to hunt you down and stalk you. Instead of just attacking and going into battle shouts immediately, they follow you around and wait until you're vulnerable before making a move.

I like this idea whole stalking idea.A little horror in this game would be nice.

Imagine walking in the dark woods all by yourself with only a torch lighting your way.Suddenly you start hearing trolls/bandits etc whispering. You start to get paranoid then after few seconds they have ambushed you, arrows flying and rushing towards you with maces and such.Awesome.

Elder scrolls need a little horror.Fallout 3 had some, like in the vaults. The giant spider we have seen seems pretty freaky.Imagine getting stuck in a spider web then behind you the giant spider lingers towrds you slowly.

Consider if in a quest, you have to pass through a cavern complex that have huge chambers, and you are told that in this cavern, there is a big dragon that would kill you on sight.

You have to pass through this cavern complex to reach the other side, and you hear the occasional distant roars of the dragon, and shrieks of it's victims echoing through out the passage ways.

That would be an intense experience.

Hircine only does a Great Hunt once every era, and it IS a new era...

Fingers crossed.

Probably won't happen so soon after Bloodmoon though.

Cool idea! I really hope they add some enemies you simply can't kill before like level 30, some really scary and powerful dragons you may encounter in dungeons. But not just unqiue or quest-related ones.

Sounds like Trebor from Wizardry 4. I don't think you'd like Wizardry 4.

However, I doubt that any of these "assassins" would be difficult for the player to defeat at all, and certainly they wouldn't kill you instantly.

Yah imagine that your hunters Finlay track you down and ambush you and you barley fight your way out on horseback and you are badly wounded and so you hide in a cave for a few weeks struggling to survive because you can't easily find food and water. The whole time you are terrified you will be found. Then all of a sudded you hear a patrol and you clomb onto your horse and run into them and they take you with them and heal you but as a result you now have to fight in Skyrims revolution to free/or subdue them. You would probobly be cav since you have a horse.

It would be very cool. I really like this idea. I fancy a real meticulous and intense assassin spending time tracking me down and then when after all his work attempts to attack me but ends up eating a fireball and dying soon after as a result. It would be pretty slick, haha.

If they were meticulous, they could watch your fighting habits out in the field. If you buff up with potions before a major fight, they might wait until you're asleep and slip a debilitating poison into your favourite elixir. Then they just need to wait for a chance to attack.

If they got close enough to poison your elixirs, why wouldn't they just kill you in your sleep? :teehee:

I have a difficult time trusting Bosmers. If I saw one trying to stalk me I would get really creeped out.
Also, seeing the title of the thread I came in here expecting Hircine, where is he?

Because you're a super soldier. It takes a good few axes to the head to stun you. Would you want to wake that guy up?

I suppose they could drug you in your sleep, though. Never mind.

EDIT: Actually, they could be told to kill you in a stand up fight to destroy your reputation instead of running the risk of making you a martyr.

I remember reading about the Swampfolk from Point Lookout doing something like that. Where occasionally you might just see like one or two of them watching youfrom afar. Not attacking, just watching. And then a different group of Swampfolk attacks you from behind. I may be wrong about that, as I've never played Point Lookout, but I do remeber reading about it.

You know, NPCs dont actually KNOW anything, because they ar enot people., you see. So an assasin, an NPC, "questioning" another to know your location is too implausible to even comprehend.

or they could just set an npc assassin after when you get a high enough bounty? not some normal npc decide he wants to track you down and slaughter you
