Then don't bring your vegetarian-ness to a HUNTERS GUILD thread. Go hunt some vitamins and plants, hah. Nah, you play the bosmer that talks to the deer?

They could learn a lot from those shopping working there.

Bosmer would be the best to run this guild, as they no what's a dishonorable in the hunt.

If they make wild animals more spookable and faster/deadlier while increasing the cost of their pelts then I could see hunting as a realistic money source. It was often difficult to take down deer in Oblivion. I dunno how well a guild could work though given the lack of unique wildlife (each deer and bear is pretty much the same). Maybe if they had deer with varying sized antlers or unique bears/boars it could work to some degree. Also there could be quests about poachers or clearing hunting grounds of pest animals. Maybe defending a range or protecting the lodge from crazed animal rights activists

Well, I don't know if it's migratory, but I know for a fact they confirmed wolf packs roaming together, and not even attempting to come at you unless they haven't eaten that day already. This realistic systems go towards just about every bit of wildlife now. Giants are neutral as well.

Yeah, that's what I thought you might have been going by. Just wanted to be sure though. Always looking for new info.

I really like this idea. I think it could work as a guild but then you'd become highest rank in the guild and pretty much it would be done with at that point. I agree with some posters who said a Hunting Lodge would be better. You would be able to continue getting random hunting jobs even after finishing the main questline. It would be a reliable source of income when you need/want to make some more gold.

Maybe there could be several lodges scattered throughout the forests of Skyrim and you should have to pass a test before becoming a member. I was thinking if you didn't become a member of the local hunters lodge, you could be arrested for poaching but after second thought, I think most players would find this tedious. Once they let you in, you would be allowed to sell your pelts, etc. there and there can also be a free bed for you. You could replenish arrows and repair equipment and armour too. There might even be trainers there for things like Marksmanship or Sneak, etc. Maybe they would still let you do the same things without becoming a member, but buy and sell prices, cost of repairs, etc. would be better for members. Also, the trainers probably wouldn't train you if you weren't a member yet and you would have to pay to sleep in the lodge if not a member. They could even have a job posting board or something where NPC's randomly post requests for certain pelts/skins are animal trophy parts, but you would only have access to the board as a member.

Anyway, I really don't know how they would implement it, but I do think having some sort of hunting faction sounds like a cool idea. I'd also like to be able to hunt birds.

I don't think it needs a Guild, the Radiant Story will most likely cover this. I imagine that most of the Radiant Story quests will be 'Go there. kill X creatures, and being the pelts back to town' variety.

If you join them, you can:
Learn to make clothes/armor/weapons/jewellery , out of animal parts.
Buy animal parts and enchanted equipment made of animal parts (for cheaper if you join them and normal price if you do not?)
Get some rare monster locations, or a good location for hunting.
Unlock some perks.

BUT you must pass the requirements first (quests and/or minimum skills)
