10 hours in and im at the 188 outpost and yet to even see a varmint rifle scope.
You may think it's early still but on my previous legion character (70 hours) never found the scopes.
Tried all big merchants every 3 days and nothing. Gun runners, McCarran, 188, Crimson caravans etc. I know I didn't miss them because the first thing I do when I see a merchant is check him for mods.
Anyone else struggle to find these?

Yes, I have a hard time finding them myself, especially the Hunting Rifle scope. The scope for the Trail carbine seems to be easier for me to come by.

sometimes it does seem off on the randomness of the scopes and such, don't forget Cliff in Goodsprings sometimes has varmit mods as well as some other mods.

Managed to get hunting rifle scope this playthrough first time from arms merchant at 188 i didn't have enough caps so i had to sell some good stuff to get it as i have had problems obtaining it with a few characters... trail carbine no problems at higher levels

I've learned that if you happen to find a vendor with the Hunting Rifle scope in inventory, you do whatever you need to come up with the caps for it, even if you don't have the gun yet.
