Hunting in Skyrim Beta - Animal Trapping
Available at the http://www.nexusmods.com/skyrim/mods/18866/?.
This is the result of months and months of hard labouring.
*** IMPORTANT ***
Do not use this beta for normal game play!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I recommend using this on a save game that has either never seen my mod before, or a save that you have completed as much quests as to obtain the Guild Log Book.
To report bugs with this beta, use the Nexus bug reporting system, and make sure you use **Beta 1.3.7** in the title of your bug report.
*** IMPORTANT ***
This is the public beta for the new upcoming animal trapping system. Use traps in as many regions as pssible all over Skyrim, Solstheim, Falskaar and Wyrmstooth. Almost all unique landscapes are monitored as regions from Pine Forest, Tundra, Coast, Fall Forest and beyond. Solstheim is split into multiple regions from Ashlands, Isinfier Woodland to Northern Solstheim Coast and more. Falskaar and Wyrmsooth are also split into different regions.
Use as many different baits as possible, you can find the lists in the book Bait Lists (Beta) added to your inventory upon starting the mod. These are also work in progress. You'll find the Beta Readme in the download that includes a list of all animal and bait lists, and all animal region lists.
When you start the game you will be prompted with a few messages, and given a few bait items, trap items, and the Bait List book.
To use traps drop them from your inventory (let them settle), activate them, choose Place Trap, and if the location is suitable a placed version will be set up. Activate this and go on from there.
If traps become broken through use you'll be informed they're broken when activated. If you have the necessary Trap Repair kits on you you will be able to repair them at this point. They can be crafted at Blacksmith Workbenches.
For the purposes of this beta all traps will be successful as long as the bait works in that region. If the bait is valid at all, the trap will progress to trapping stage. If the bait works in that region for an animal, one will be trapped. If the bait works for an animal, but that animal cannot be found in that region, then the bait will remain, and no animal will be trapped.
Trapping skill is also uncalculated as of yet.
Things that aren't finished:
Wyrmstooth isn't fully mapped out.
Only 1 type of animal trap is complete.
Custom bait items aren't finished, only a special Troll Bait is craftable at Cooking Pots (Vension & Bonemeal)
Bait journal not complete.
Pheasants and Hawks won't be trappable yet.
If a trap is successful the bait still remains. This may change in the future, let me know your thoughts.
There may be work in progress features that are not completed yet. Remember this is a beta, uploaded for testing purposes.
As always thank you for taking the time to try out my mod. Make sure to comment and report bugs on the Nexus page!
Richard
