Alpha Testers Needed!!!

Hey guys, I have an addon that's in the works for an animal companion. I got the idea a few months ago, and have been going over various ideas with hyno88. This companion is not just any kind of companion, this animal is earned at a young age, and actually grows in game as time passes. You can feed it, command it to hunt for you, command it to attack, and a whole host of other things. This addon needs testers before it can go live.

Thanks to hypno88, he has developed this from the ground up to be an unofficial official addon to Hunting in Skyrim. Also in the works is an animal baiting system to lure animals to you/your trap. This venture will be incorporated into the main mod. The companion addon will be an optional download (requiring HIS as a master when it's complete).

If you're interested in getting your hands on the mod, send http://www.gamesas.com/user/733252-hypno88/ a PM.

Remember this is currently an alpha, and requires people who are willing to bug test and stress test this. Backup your saves, don't use it for normal gameplay, and make sure you install/uninstall it properly.

Thanks for all your support!

I'm going to work more this weekend on my radiant hunting framework, I'm playing with the use of Animal Dens (small cave type areas) so I get to stretch my level designing abilities a bit I'll throw some screenshots up of a couple of them.

I'm going to upload my mod to the Steam Workshop again, but not in the same way as I do on the Nexus. Anything that I believe to be a risky move will first be tested on the nexus, then uploaded to the workshop. By "risky" I mean something that won't break when steam auto-updates the mod, not something that's dangerous to use Nexus users have the benefit of being able to control mod updating.

So for example if I'm releasing a new feature, I'll let it play on the Nexus for a few weeks, help judge any bugs etc, and then upload a polished version to the Workshop and the polished version onto the Nexus also.

Animal Dens

Here are a few screenshots of the latest major feature I'm developing; Animal Dens. Developed by accident, these will be small cave-like dungeons that are home to "boss" level animals. They can be explored and conquered on their own, and they can also be home to an animal you're hunting down during a Hunt Contract. I plan on creating maybe a couple dozen of these, but will release in the next update maybe half a dozen. You may recognise the external structure, it's used in the game already in only a couple of locations. I'll be making those into animal dens to.

The reason they came about accidently was because I was trying to think of cool places to put the animals for Hunt Contracts. And instead of always having them just out in the open, I decided to make a series of dens. Some will be beautiful or elaborate like in the following screenshots, others smaller and simpler in design and structure.

As always any comments, critiques, or suggestions are welcomed

EDIT

Also bear with me on these, before now I'd never tried creating actual levels, just buildings. So they may seem a little rough around the edges

the animal den screenshots look awesome!

if I can make a suggestion; some of the animals could benefit from having a 'nest' type area within the den. for example, wolves only really use dens when having pups. It would be *awesome* to have a wolf-mother protecting a small dugout area with maybe some other females and males dotted around protecting them. alpha & 'beta' wolves in particular could be enormously ramped up in difficulty since they're always much tougher/smarter than the rest of the pack.

when done, do you clear out the pups too, or leave them as the contract was only for the advlts... oooh, ethical dimension to the mod!

also, having the occasional grownup wolf-child or woods-child who's lived with the pack of (whatever animal) all their life who could perhaps be crazy protective of them and add magic to the hunt?

anyway. I know i've said before on the nexus, but i'll say it again: I'm a huge fan of your mod. Can't wait to see what's next!
