Hunting

Post » Tue May 17, 2011 8:03 am

What is your favorite thing/race/class to hunt? Mine is vampires and wood elves (I find the wood elf to by highly annoying) Once I have killed a vampire I take its dust and weapon if it has one. as for wood elves. I take all its stuff and just drop it in the nearest body of water just to leave it humiliated in view of all wanderers and guards. I serverly dislike them lol

Buffy isn't going to be happy ;)

My current character doesn't hunt anything. She's a Healer.

However, my ranger type characters always enjoyed hunting deer.

Necromancers, I am a loyal dedicated member of the Mages' Guild, and sometimes a blood price must be paid a hundred-fold.

The last ranger type character I had would never hunt the deer or other animals includeing Spriggan's.

He was a friend of nature and would rather hunt the Forrester's that tried to kill my Deer friends.

My currant character is more of a Crusader and she's just hunting down the crusader relics right now.

Hunting deer is too easy lol. I could shoot buffy before she even whipped her stake out! muahahaha lol. My mage loves to hunt necromancers (obviously lol) my knight (full heavy armor with a beasty claymore doesn`t really hunt but if anyone annoys him he starts swinging (118000 septim bounty at the moment with him lol)

You misunderstood. Buffy is a dear friend of many of the members here. She's Acadian's character, and a Bosmeri Mystic Archer. An easy mistake to make, of course.
Many of us here are roleplayers, so the fact that killing deer is "too easy" isn't of importance to us.

Night Owl, what did he eat? I only ever hunted deer for food. Never for sport.

He was vegeitarian. He would stop in town to get a supply of food every now and then.
He was a very serious alchemist but had a hard time picking ingredients,he only picked what was needed and allways offered a prayer to Nirn thanking it for the gifts.

Buffy's heart breaks a little to see another wood elf hater. So many of her fellow forest elves and wood nymphs have been lost. She asks Mara that some kindness find its way into your heart. That you hunt vampires and necromancers perhaps displays some hope for your troubled spirit. She wishes you sweet water and green paths ahead.

That possibility dawned on me after I posted. It sounds like he truly was a friend of Nirn.

On a slight deviation from the topic, does anyone know the official reason why Imperial Forresters hunt deer so ruthlessly?

All my characters are vegetarian, even with Alchemy ingredients. It is the one part of my real life that I can't exclude from role play. Virtual morality, anyone?

Have you ever got that mesage that says you can't wait while enemies are nearby? Even if there just deer?

I think the game consider's them to be enemies for some reason.

Oddly, considering my avatar is a warrior whose preferred method of dealing with hostile foes is in-your-face melee confrontation rather than stealth or magic (though he can use those to a limited extent) he considers himself a reluctant killer, doing so only at necessity. That said, his most cherished assignment is patrolling Cyrodiil's roads as a Legionnaire for The Elder Council. When on patrol he diligently rids roads between the Imperial City and the various county seats of any and all riffraff, be they outlaws, monsters, or roaming beasts. He does, admittedly, always allow outlaws first-strike, in the hope that they will instead peacefully surrender.

Though he takes no special pleasure in it, he will attack all wisps and spiggan in the immediate area on site. Better they fall fast rather than damage his various attributes.

Just had a nose around UESP. Seems deer are in the prey faction, which makes wolves and that attack deer and your horse, but there is a separate entry for deer attacked by Forester's, so must be scripted specifically into the Forester AI. Unfortunately, this must also be the reason other Legionaires attack the Forester, as non Forester AI sees this in the same way as if they were attacking horses.

All those who willfully prey upon the innocent. Bandits and marauders, naturally, since they make an already dangerous journey across Cyrodiil's roads that much worse for everyone. My character hasn't really gone out of her way much to attack woodland or mythic beasts; only if they attack her, or pose a potential threat to travelers.

Necromancers and vampires, though... she despises them especially. They profane natural law for their own benefit and amusemant, as well as prey upon the innocent in the worst way: theft of their life's blood, or even their souls. These are special sorts of sins that she will go out of her way to punish.

The character's not really a goody-two-shoes, though. She may kill an "innocent" if she deems them too dangerous to continue living. Her somewhat warped sense of justice could get her into some murky situations someday.

Buffy isn't going to be happy ;)

Neither will Elberond or Drehdwyn.

Elberond (Bosmer Recon Sniper) hunts Necromancers and Conjurers ruthlessly, since an alliance between the two in responsible for the deaths of his father and uncle.

Drehdwyn (Bosmer Assassin) hunts anyone she's paid to hunt.

Dreloth Vandaal (Dunmer War Mage) hunts Sigil stones, Welkynd stones, Varla stones, http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=36362 and http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=9412.

Population control. Cyrodiilic deer mature and reproduce almost as fast as tribbles.

You do not hunt the Wood Elf, the Wood Elf hunts you

My Wood Elf character, Arryn Valker, hails from Elden Root in the Valenwood region. A master of Sneak and Marksmanship, 95% of his targets don't know it's coming until the arrow strikes, his Agilty is matched only by his Speed. he clears entire dungeons without once being detected. he has no particular disliking for a specific race or creature, but if pushed, would not hesitate to take down the rude and bullish Orcs.

Hunting Wood Elves? Why? I can tell you this pissed Lothran off to no end. Not only is he an elf himself (although a Dark one), but if his good friend Buffy should end up as a casualty he will literally go berserk, Nord-style :flame:

Anyway to answer the question, Lothran mostly hunts what′s threatening him basically. Goblins, necrodudes ;) and various undead

As a Witch and a guardian of the forest, Teresa would never harm its animals. They are her friends after all. Except for the magical beasties that threaten everyone, such as trolls, will-o-the-wisps, and those who would think to hunt wood elves.

Instead http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v90/subrosa_florens/oblivion/Oblivion514.jpg hunts Ayleid ruins. She will not be satisfied until she has explored them all.

Helena encountered a Necromancer dungeon the other day, while searching for ingredients...

Turns out she's not a fan of the Necromantic arts, and ruthlessly hunts down undead and Necromancers.
