Wish I had passed on the game for this long. I'd really like to experience it for the first time again.

I've never played more than 20 hours on any single character. Now that I realize how much better this game is than Skyrim, it's about to change.

Knock yourself out, its worth it.
I got approx. 60-65 for both runthroughs (just started the third). The amount experienced in that time felt appropriate for this game (more, and it would've started to drag on, but that's just my preference).

While we're talking about sales, Fallout 1 is on sale for $2.99 on GOG.

My son just got a new HP All-in-one computer for Christmas and I would like to purchase this for his system. Any idea how well it would run on it? It's one of the new HP Touchsmart systems. I know little about computer hardware. My NV playthrough was on the 360.

Here is a link to the website but I don't see any hardware specs: http://www.hp.com/united-states/campaigns/touchsmart/#/TouchSmart-610/Overview

Can't say no for that price.

Same for Fallout 2. And Tactics (but I can't recommend tactics as I haven't played it).

HP really trashed their website didn't they? Don't get me wrong, they're my favorite company for pre-built PC's, but I can't find any computer specs or anything for that computer.

A quick search in google didn't provide anything helpful either.

Either I svck, or the specs are not there. :P

Thanks for letting me know (they weren't on sale last week iirc)

I've been buying the GOG versions of the originals so they can run on my new computer without having to install a ton of patches.

@innaworkz - For $5 you might as well buy it and try it. Chances are it will work, although I've never used that type of computer before. I can't seem to find the computer's specs anywhere, and if you're really worried about it you could probably call/email HP's tech support and ask them whether it'll run New Vegas or not.

Thanks for looking. Like Tycho suggested, for that price I'm willing to gamble and find out. If it runs well, I'll download the DLC at the same time. How long is the sale for?

About 20, give or take a couple, hours left. Mine shows 19.45. at the moment, but I don't know how this thing handles the different timezones.

On EST in the U.S. it shows 23.45 right now.

Well, being an all-in-one, you can bet it doesn't have a real video card, but relies on an 'onboard' video chip on the motherboard, or built into the CPU (they're coming out with some of those now). These kinds of graphics chips are pretty limp for gaming, but it may play it at lower resolutions and with poorer 'prettiness' quality. But even a low-rez, non-pretty New Vegas would still be a better and more enjoyable game than most of the mega-blockbusters of today on a $1000 top-end video card, frankly.

The fact that HP's advertising for that computer mentions nothing about gaming or video quality, speaks volumes by its omission, though. I wouldn't go anywhere near it if gaming was my primary (or even secondary) motivation.
