Ice Hockey in Skyrim

Post » Thu Mar 10, 2011 6:52 am

How about adding sport into the game? As Todd mentioned in his interview you can have all the genres you want in a rpg, so what about adding some kind of primitiv ice hockey to the game, just as a nice gimmick or maybe even a minigame.
Skyrim is very snowy so it would totally fit imo, so maybe some villages with their own lake could play it.
The skates should be something like that

What do you think? Would it be cool or doesn't it fit, maybe cause of the civil war or something different.

While there were contests of strength etc back in the day, I'm pretty sure than the Skyrim Provincial Hockey League (or SPHL) has had to postpone their season so that everyone can stay alive during the dragon attacks. We thank you for your cooperation during these difficult times.

Seriously? Hockey? If they want to do a throwaway, stupid idea DLC where there's the Nordic games or something, fine. I can choose to not buy it. I think that i would probably pay a modder to remove the SPHL from the game otherwise.

To be honest, I'm totally useless at casting spells, I got into the Arcane University on a sports scholarship.

Howard was speaking about the fact that different genre's are morphing together now as the barrier of a boatload of genres to define games due in part to technology and developer ideas is now breaking down.

Seeing as Skyrims a fantasy world I can't imagine they'd play hockey. Yes they most likely have some sort of sport resembling hockey as any species needs a form of entertainment, especially those resembling real life humans.

So ice hockey, no. Maybe a show of the general population playing some sport, sure.

Edit: And also guys how about we provide more insight more then omg no bad idea I don't like it so it's a dumb idea. You all speak English, use the language to communicate rather than act like a snob towards someone just pitching an idea

end the civil war with a....hockey game? :P

But no, it doesn't really fit with the sword/magic game imo.

As long as the victors get to decapitate or humiliate the losing team.

So, think thats exactly what I expected, was just an idea that went in my head yesterday while watching the game (Last goal was awesome, we shot the puck right into the face of a defender and his, now bleeding face made the goal :D)

But maybe some kids sliding around on lake :o
