an idea for AI and so on.

It's sort of borrowing from ideas in FFXII -- the idea is that you would essentially be able to "program" the AI of a follower to keep them from dying so hard, maybe have them notice that they're low health and use a potion or whatnot. It would also be semi cool to have the enemies notice how hard or easy a fight they're having and thus either heal up or run away or use a healing potion.

just sort of random, but I'd love to see it.

He means the ability to set triggers for actions and behavior, like FFXII's Gambit system. Essentially you can say "When you get below 25% health, consume a health potion", or "when I get below 50% health, become more aggressive".

It could work pretty well, I think. Just as long as it actually works and has a good UI.

As I recall it was a sort of drag and drop system. You had a bank of commands and could set the order of them. But the order did actually matter. If the first thing was "attack" and the second was "if health <50% drink a potion" the AI stopped at "attack" rather than going down the whole list.

That sounds so cool!

Skyrim's companions have decent AI, though I've watched some idiotic apathy.
Can't recall seeing them taking potions., Do they?

ANyway, that system sounds great.
Great post.
