My Idea for Earthworm Jim 4

Post » Mon Apr 06, 2009 4:02 pm

I know Earthworm Jim 4 is probably far in production but I thought I'd share some ideas for it.

The game could be like a sandbox game like GTA but without the killing innocents and stealing cars.

As Jim you can travel anywhere around Earth and even travel to space and other planets freely. You can vist the planets of the villans and even chase down their spaceships. You'd be able to battle such enemies as Professor Monkey-for-a-head, Queen slug-for-a-butt, Bob and No. 4, Evil and Henchrat, Psy-Crow, Fatty Roswell and Evil Jim. On Earth you can explore the cities and area, even enter Jim's house. You can explore the Turlawk mall and buy special items and unlock features. Of course you can call a car to drive around if Jim's ship is damaged.
Also the missions you get are from such characters as from the Princess, Peter, Hamsternator, Snot and other characters.

So these are my ideas, I hope you like them and maybe they could be used in the game or for an upcoming Earthworm Jim game.

1) I'd have thought this should've been in the Gameplay & Spoilers forum.

2) So you're suggesting Jim's grand comeback to practically be a GTA rip-off?
I like the idea of freely exploring Earth and space, but really, that should work more like a central hub area if anything. Which comes as standard in a lot of games. <(._.)^

Are you thinking along the lines of The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker? It's not exactly like GTA with a city to explore, but it's got all these islands (which would be the planets) that you sail across the Great Sea (which would be space) to get to. One problem arising from the epicness that is video game sailing is that sometimes it gets very dragged out and boring. That's why in WW and Phantom Hourglass, there are ways you can warp to different parts of the Great Sea. If that's how space would work in this game, there would have to be warps. Image

Well the idea of something to warp around quicker could be say Professor Monkey for a Head has this new invention to warp intsantly across space and Jim could take it off him which as you find them around space can then use them.

I'm actually hoping they will stick to the games roots and make a 2D game. The newest Wario game was 2D and that got a good reception. More depth could be added to the game with item collecting/ more levels and a 3Dhubworld, for example you could do 4 levels then a boss level after that move onto the next hubworld etc.

If earthworm jim is 3D the gameplay is going be quite diffren't from the origonals and it couldturn out to be a flop like all the new Sonic the Hedehog games. But i have faith in gamesas that they will create a good game wether it's 2D or not.
:)

edit: i just posted the same thing in the gameplay section because it seems like that section was made for this kind of thing

After Earthworm Jim 3D, I don't really want to see another 2D Jim game unless if was on DS.

There are enough "sandbox" games as it is. I still shudder when I think about that awful Spider Man 3 game (which was a sandbox game). For me, a new Earthworm Jim should be a platformer all the way. I'd be happy with a super-slick 2D adventure, a side-scroller with 3D character models or a full 3D platformer (though that would require extra care to keep the original feel of the series).

WHOOOOAAAA NELLY! Image
I told the Overseer of Vault 13 I'd give everything to save everyone, and so I did, I saved them all. Since then I've felt loneliness.

Sound nice, make like a realistic world, where you can take anything and you can hit to the people.

Sounds nice. I think, inside of kill your friends, make them angry or confused, will be interesting, or almost make like a game over if you kill a important character, haha, how for say if you lose that character, your stage dont have solution, then you lose the game.

3D or 2D will be fine.

I think, i love interact with the stages when you can explore it and when is not necesary lineal.

sorry my english, i speak my leanguage much better.
