Idea for next update

Post » Sun Feb 14, 2016 10:59 am

Dear Overseers,

Don't you hate it when you got this objective: ''rush a room 42 times'' and everytime you succeed a rush a little screen comes up and tells you how far you are with this mission (like 2/42). Now the problem is not the objective pop-up itself but where it pops up. You tab rush everytime but when you do this pop-up screen blocks your rush button.

There are 2 ways to continue. First to wait til the screen vanishes or second to click the objective and click away objective menu.

I know this is not a first world problem but it would be better to put the objective pop-up on the side of the game. in this way we can optimize the game experience of the game. it helps me finish my objectives way faster.

Smartphones / tablets don't have much space. Move the objective pop-up somewhere else - it will block another interface element.

What it needs - "close / hide" button. When you complete objective, you get a pop-up with "redeem reward" button (looks like caps or lunchbox).Tap it - and pop-up is closed. I don't know, why pop-up with progress bar doesn't have similar behaviour. Button with arrow, turned left (toward pip-boy icon) or down (as pop-up will be moved down) will suit this role.

Why not just remove it? Honestly, you have a pipboy button, Bethesda should utilize it. People will know to go there for their lunchboxes and objectives.

That's called "System's response". Whatever user does, he should get reaction from interface. Without such pop-up you need to manually check-up if system counts your actions at all.

So, such objective pop-up (or something, that fulfills its function) is needed.

Not sure if it actually is. Or at least the message can stay. The message is linked to the objectives screen so if that was turned off and all you get was a message you could just tap to make it disappear, then you get both your 'system response' yet it wouldn't be annoying.

Yes, you are right. It needs "close / hide" button.

you could easily place the pop up screen on the right between the hammer and menu

Won't solve the problem. If objective has long name, it still will overlap other interface elements. Plus, placing it near "pip-boy" is logical as objective screen is hidden there.

"Yes, you are right. It needs "close / hide" button."

Or at least play some loud music when it pops up, to cover up my stream of obscenities.

Actually the solution is very simple. Simply click on any of the dwellers within the room once the rush button is blocked. That way u can immediately access the rush button again.

Too simple to be true :)

If seriously, such solution isn't intuitive. Besides, similar elements should have similar behaviour. If pop-up "objective completed" can be closed in 1 tap, why pop-up "objective's progress" cannot be?

For the next update you guys should add some melee weapons to the game that you could find either in lunch boxes or out it the waste land. I believe this would be good that way there is a variety of different types of weapons other than guns.

Another thing I thing I thought of (this is a long shot) but it would be cool if you could find a dogs in the wasteland and send them with dwellers to the waste land to find more/better items and caps. It would also help kill things at the vault and out in the wasteland.

you're most welcome

melee weapons would be nice but i dont think they would add much to the game unless there are specific enemies

that are immune to guns or something. until then i'll keep my trusty shotgun around. For close encounters. :D
