well how about, when you set your marker somewhere, it tells you all the routes to get there? so lets say i needed to go through a metro to access a place, my pipboy would have a circle round the metro(if i've found that metro of course)

But if you are in the wasteland and place your marker in DC you will get [player]-----------O---O--------O----O------------[Arrow]
