These RPs would normally have run on a storyteller system to keep the plot progressing constantly and give the players a sense of surprise and fear, as they never would know what would be coming up next. This is where the survival in survival-horror would kick in, as players would bleed, become wounded or crippled, or even in worse case scenarios they would die, or come harrowingly close. Health potions and healing spells were re-worked and for lack of a better word "nerfed".
I'm currently thinking up a new RP, picking up around where I had to leave off with my last RP; Fog Eater: The Scatterlands, which was supposed to tie into my first and most successful RP; Poisoned Mindscape, but sadly I had to stop playing storyteller and Fog Eater, while it had a fun beginning, never finished.
The Poisoned Mindscape universe is parallel to the usual Elder Scrolls world. When the players are eventually pulled or tricked into entering this alternate dimension, the game takes on surreal, bizarre, and dreamlike qualities that demands a storyteller guide the plot. The game simply would not have been the same without it.
For those of you familiar with Silent Hill games, or have seen the movie Jacob's Ladder, than you may have a firmer grasp of where these RPs are coming from.
Its late, I'd like to go into more detail about what I'm planning, but I'll say this; if I can find the time to run this RP, and I have a team of dedicated, mature players, than yes, this is going to be one hell of a RP. Are any of my old players out there? And new people interested?
This RP will be based on fragments of a lost short-story; Yellow Veins. A sequel to Poisoned Mindscape & Fog Eater: Scatterlands, and the successor of Requiem Defunctorum. The name of the new RP in undecided at this time.
from original fog eater thread introduction:
Fog Eater is an indirect sequel to three of my previous RPs. It continues years after my first ever RP; Poisoned Mindscape, and also draws heavily from the plot my two unfinished RPs; Defunctorum & Apacolyptica.
Please, ask any questions about this RP or my RPs of the past. And feel free to offer ideas or add whatever you want to this thread. I'll greatly appreciate it.
