(Idea/WIP) New Daedric Shrines

Post » Thu May 27, 2010 1:56 am

Hi again,

Kinda into a lot of projects lately and here's another one (well if anyone's interested).

New Deadric Shrines is an attempt to make shrines around Vvardenfell more rich and diverse. Now I won't add as much stuff as in my other mods New Seyda Neen and New Gnisis, rather spice them up a bit with Oblivion portals and some misc stuff.

Haven't done a lot of work really, but it's a start.

I'm using a portal made by Arcimaestro Anteres, It's awesome!

Thoughts/ideas? :)

It sounds like a good idea for a mod. Most of the shrines are rather simple with a shrine room, a couple of hostile worshippers, a plate with some gems on it in front of the statue and some chests and scrolls in the back.

Something to make some of the shrines more unique would be great, I'll let you know if I come up with anything useful for the mod itself.

Oh yes please! I always go into shrines hoping for some excitement, but usually it ends up being "meh." This is a serious problem and it needs to be fixed.

Yeah I had the same feeling, I hope to do 2-3 shrines a day. I don't know what you guys think about the portal? Though it serves no actual function, it gives the shrines some eyecandy. :)

Re: Portal -

I think it ought to do something. Eye candy is great, but in some cases it just doesn't make sense for an object to do nothing but look pretty. Maybe it could be a door to a new interior, like a miniature Oblivion gate? I know resources exist for building Oblivion planes - it wouldn't have to be complicated, but its mere existence would be pretty darn cool. Depending on the Daedric Prince in question, the individual Planes could be tailored to match what the lore says about them.

Yes you've got a point. But I think I'll skip the ability to go through the gates in the first version though, but I plan to do something about that in the future. Now I really got a lot on my mind lol. Relz for New Gnisis later today too :o

Well well back to work :P

instead of a plane of oblivion, you can have the doors transport to another temple of the same daedra prince.

Great idea.
I don't know about that rug, though. Looks too perfect, neat, & tidy.
If there is potential for some "hellish" daedra to emerge from that portal, that rug won't stand a chance!
