Ideal Guild Sized

Post » Tue Mar 11, 2014 5:02 pm

This got me thinking what you think the idea guild sized might be?

From RIFT, My guild that I belong to has about 700 to 1000 total people, but in the evening there are only 40 to 60 people online during the time that I play with the same players all the time. I getting to know them well.

During non peek hours there is about 15 to 20 people are online.

That seems about the right size, it is big enough so that someone is always online 24/7 and are active, but not to big one does not get to know them.

It needs to be a large number to count for all the anti-social or non-active players, but not to big. Also, with that many people, they do little bit of everything in the game: PVE, PVP, Dungeons, crafting, raids, IA's, GH Rifts (PLEASE NOTE: Some of what I listed apply to only to RIFT content, not ESO.)

What do you think of an ideal guild sized?

Casual guilds tend to haves 1000s of members "pro" like a 10th of that in Teso 50 min for the guild store thing. Anything above 200 is just for inactive account collecting lol

I don't think there is an ideal guild size. As long as you don't overly recruit anyone super fast. Choose some requirements for joining your guild, maybe get to know people before inviting them.

Does it really matter if you know everyone in your guild or not? I don't think so.

In my other MMO I'm playing, I'm one of the top ranking officers in a 400 members guild; I don't know everyone and they don't all know me. I know a bunch of them and a bunch of them knows me.

I don't see any problem if the guild gets bigger.

My ideal size would be around 15 active players.

There are a lot of guilds out there with 500+ members (500 being the limit in ESO).

However, the more "hardcoe" guilds tend to be far less than that.

It does seem like a large guild would be kind of chaotic.

That sounds reasonable in my opinion.

Only if the leader/officers don't do their jobs.

I've seen small chaotic guilds and large ordered guilds.

Are we talking total or number who are active and online at the same time that you are?
