Ideal Power Armor Paint?

Post » Fri Nov 27, 2015 12:01 pm

If power armour can be equipped with an advanced power fist then the temptation to want a red and gold paint job would be unreal; can't beat Hulkbuster. Still, personally, some kind of military based paint job for me in general, greens, browns, and greys, maybe a camouflage pattern to it. That or bare metal/composite.

Ha! I didn't know that. Maybe it was genuine at first, but decided it was a bit silly and used the space for something else. Oh well, pink power armor for days now. With kittens down the side.

I have to concur with previous posters that a red/black paintjob would be great.

Where did anything say we could paint our armor?

Granted that would be cool.

A paint slot could be seen on the power armor customization interface.

Red, white and gold.

Edit: on the subject of power armour I just thought how cool it would be to be able to wear individual pieces of the armour over your regular clothes, like just an arm or something. I hope thats possible.

problem is how does the power armour, well power itself, its attached to a full body exoskeleton, its more a human shaped vehicle then a piece of armour.

Also i just want to point out that the Fallout wiki (whether you trust it or not) implies that "paint" isnt a customization option but rather a stat-affecting modification and comes in patterns: http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/T-60_power_armor

No clue if it is true, just wanted to mention it anyways

I think I'll do mine in 49 different shades of grey.

50 would be too much.

well it wouldn't be so heavy as it is just one part of the armour, perhaps it wouldn't need to be powered. But of course it would be heavy enough to slow you down/throw off your aim depending which part

...and why would you intentionally as a player wear gear that handicap you like that?

Extra armour? Strength stat would have an influence (say between 6-8 the effect is negligible and 9-10 it isn't there/

I used it on my NCR Heavy Trooper character and im mostly sane. Not everything has to be "perfectly useful", it is thinking like that which leads to Bethesda's streamlining madness

no it doesn′t, but it still needs to be at the same time reasonably useful, making armour out of old sports gear or pots and pans, reasonably useful, using parts of a armor who mere practical usefulness requires a working exoskeleton, not so reasonably useful, again PA is not a armour in the end, it′s a human shaped vehicle

So if you have a chunk of this advanced power armor but it doesnt function because like i said: it is a chunk, Do you just throw it away? No you use it as plating for your makeshift armor. It might be heavy but it will protect you from those bullets better than leather or combat armor. It is about risk and reward, any enemy strong enough to wear unpowered power armor is an enemy you cant just overlook

a chunk perhaps, but this about someone wanting to go all anime character and wear a whole intact, but none powered arm as a piece of armor, which again sounds stupidly impractical, taking a metal shard or two of the main plating and straping it to your clothes is more fair, but anything beyond that just, well seams silly impractical, even for a desperate wastelander.
