Ideas for Additions to Fallout 4

Post » Sun Nov 29, 2015 11:26 pm

Here is a list of somethings I believe could be added to make the game even more greater than it already is.

Building Mechanics

-The ability to build a workshop anywhere: There are some great places in the game that I believe would make great bases. I think they should add in maybe something you can buy at a vendor for a high cap value that gives you the ability to make a workshop. Maybe 3 different types, small, medium, and large. It can be like a micro-version of the workshop tool in game. You go to where you want to build, drop the object and activate it or something like that. Then just build and scrap to your hearts desire.

-Themed items: Adding in a workshop or workshop items to the existing program that allows for certain themes. Similar to the buyable themes in Fallout 3, Raider, Vault, Pre-War, Love, etc. I would love to set up shop in a cave somewhere and turn it into a Vault.

-Item Snapping/item Clipping: The ability to toggle snapping on and off as well as item clipping for buildable objects. I would love to be able to make a fence around my settlement without any gaps in it because of terrain. I should be able to build a fence in the ground or a wall into the ground.

Game Mechanics

-Scrapping Weapons and Apparel in Pip-Boy: I think we should get an option to breakdown items in the pip-boy for just weapons and apparel only. This would help those hoarders out there cut down on their weight in a pinch. If I pick up a weapon in the middle of a firefight and it weights me down, it svcks. I would love to be able to open up the pip-boy and scrap it. If not Allow for companions to be able to scrap items, similar to veronica and Ed-E's workbench ability when in tow as a companion. Because Nick Valentine or someone should be able to do this.

-Setting Favorite items or Equipped items to none Scrappable: There has been a few times while at the armor or weapon crafting benches that I've accidentally scrapped a weapon or piece of armor that was favorited or equipped because I was mashing the Scrap button. Had to reload a save and redo anything I just did. This svcks, so easy fix, anything marked as Favorite or Equipped should have to be unfavorited or unequipped in order to scrap.

-Attackers spawning in the middle of settlements: This should be changed to attack from the outside in. I hate to say it, unless my settlers are raider spys or spontaneously mutating to super mutants, this should not be happening. Take it out.

-Defense should mean defense: often, you turrets just seem to be set pieces never really intending to stave off attacks unless you see it for yourself. This is a silly mechanic. If I build a settlement with a high defense, I'm meaning like fort knox or citadel defenses, then why do I need to see it myself to make sure my settlement is defended properly? Change this. If I have 60 turrets, then this should be adequately enough to fend off attacks.... especially when you 30 settlements you have to worry about.

Bugs to Fix:

-Light generation in settlements: I've come across a weird bug that seems to happen with the lights in a settlement. When I place the light, it lights up indicating its power. Sometimes when I return in the dead of night, these lights aren't powered up (and they are not on a switch). I then go into workshop mode, click it and it turns on when i back out. This needs to be looked into.

-Can't move after unthawing from the pod: I haven't encountered this, but it happened to my sister when she started a game on my console. She went through everything and then when she unthawed out of the pod, she couldn't move. So she restarted. Happened again. Finally I powered down the console, unplugged my xbox one for 60 seconds, powered it back up and make her start again. Told her to save before going into the pod. It happened again, she reloaded the save before the pod and it work and she could move. Look into this.

-Super Dog?!: Apparently, Dogmeat is Krypto the super dog because he can move some of the cars in the world.... but I cannot....? One hilarious moment happened to a car in concord, he moved it, it flew up alittle bit and slammed back down on him causing him to drop all his HP and crawl on the ground needing a stimpak. This should be looked into. If he can move the car, so should I!

-Pip-Boy App problems: For some reason, only my ipod can be used with the pip boy app on my console. My wife's phone cannot seem to connect to her game, but mine ipod (which was the first to be connected) is the only thing that can successfully connect to the app in my apartment. It will connect to my game and her game, but she cannot get her own game on her own app on her phone. Don't know if this is a bug or not, but its inconvenient for her because I take my ipod to work with me and she cannot connect her phone while I'm gone.

Don't CHANGE:

-Size limits for settlements: The size limit is fine. PC people may have to computing power to care about this, but me as a console person, yes it may be inconvenient because of the thought, I'm building it it should be as big as I want....... yes, but sadly I don't want choppy framerate issues when having a super large settlement. YOU DO NOT NEED DAMN TRUMP TOWER ALL TO YOURSELF! This is not immersion breaking or game breaking for me.

would like a separate inventory tab in the pip boy for holotapes. Their awesome to listen to and a tag for playable ones like a VG tag or something.

Ranged weapon Crits to Wound/Incapacitate enemies and melee Crits same premise but to play the "kill cam" that wounds (NOT KILLS) them so I can loot them to my content. I know you can pacify enemies and leave them unharmed.

I'm no such person, you shoot at my char I cap your knees, strip you of your worthwhile belongings and leave a mine beside you.

I'd like to see Three-Dog as well. I would figure ten years later, Galaxy News Radio would have enough power to broadcast pretty far. And hopefully with more songs. Its a shame they re-used songs from Fallout 3. I could of sworn they said they had a bigger and better list of songs. maybe 10 new songs, plus 14 or so classical is not a bigger list. Atleast they put in Butcher Pete part 2.

Also The Storyteller from the Fallout Lore series would of been cool to have as a companion, like their mod for Fallout

I don't know, I think three dog would be very old by the time fallout 4 happens... Also leave that to mod community i think they should make something like that very soon, after the nvde mods are complete obviously.
