My group and I are doing a history presentation on the 1950s in a week or two. I'm really keen on decorating the room to be a fallout-esque theme. But I don't really want to print out a bunch of nuclear warning signs but instead would prefer to make it more creative. I'm thinking of maybe incorporating the room into a bomb shelter somehow. Any ideas on props and how to do this?

In a trinket shop I once found a government issue "Fallout Shelter" sign from 1960. Look for one of those, some old Coca-Cola posters, anything pro-america really.

Good idea. Propaganda was huge in the 50s!

Bakelite everything. Orange-red floral wallpaper. Lino floor tiles. A vase full of sun-flowers. Wood paneling.

Dont forget a suit of Tb-51 Power Armor!

Other than that I'd look for some pictures of fallout shelters of the era

Tinned food, a giant hovering robot that tells jokes and cuts hair.

Recreations of Fallout food, Fallout shelter signs, pro America and propaganda signs, signs promoting the Enclave, music from Fallout playing on a record player (or boom box if you're not cool), etc.

Not a decoration but you should defiantly run a duck and cover drill
