Ideas for future DLC

Well since we won't be moving backward they'll of course have to decide what ending for Legion was canon at least, maybe not spoil if NCR, House or Independent won, but they have to canonize whether Caesar died, whether Lanius lived and wen't back or if both died and either Lucius, Vulpes or someone else took over as the new Caesar.

And them in the past would be interesting to see, but it's already been explained to us by Caesar and other legionnaires.
Besides, if Legion are gonna make another appearance I wanna see the lighter side of their moral shade of gray.
And the beginning was anything but a light shade of gray.
I mean, the 2nd tribe got completely and utterly wiped out. Men, women, old people and kids, all slaughtered just to prove a point to the next tribe of what Edward could do.
So the beginning would help flesh out their backstory lore, but would hardly give Legion any lighter shade of gray.

And I really want to see the softer side of Legion, the side that isn't just temporary war camps.

Look at the steam worldwide achievements for FNV.
Witch faction has the most players sided with theme is the most possible cannon ending.
Yes Man is cannon looking at the global achievements from Steam 18,5%. I don’t know how it looks for xBox360.

Mhhhh don’t like it I am more a NCR BoS type no anarchist -.-

All that possibly means is they messed up and got stuck with YesMan. Or they typically found his questling and carried it out without thinking it through.
Or they just wanted the achievement - like me.

If Lucius took over as Caesar I don't think there would be infighting since he is head of the praetorian guard who are the most elite group of fighters in the Legion.

The choice of the majority =/= Canon choice.
The canon choice is what the developers think will be best for the story, if they figure out a kickass storyline by having Legion winning the battle with Lanius in charge then it doesn't matter that it is the abolute minority, they chose it because it was best for the story they had in mind.

I always though Lucius taking over would be interesting.

He could be a leader who isn't as very charismatic or influential and under him the Legion ould divide.

And I hope if they give us Caesar's Legion in the next game they announce the canon ending for New Vegas.
I don't like the idea of Legion splitting.
They're suppose to be religious zealots, devoting their lifes towards Caesar, and even in death they continue to honor him.
Even if the new Caesar isn't charismatic I don't see why they'd turn their backs on their faith.
They've suffered enough losses as it is, breaking Legion apart into multiple smaller factions would just be cruel to the Legion.
We should at least have one more game where Legion is unified as one nation before Bethesda decides that anarchy is more fun.

Meh. More Legion content.
Even if they're not in the base game: We need more Legion.
Especially civilized Legion life.
Even if the DLC is just a detective story set in a civilized Legion city.

New random factions bla bla bla.
I'm all for getting more lore but I'd trade every DLC content planned for more Legion content.
Cause they got completely shafted in New Vegas and deserves more content to show off their less brutal side.

But new factions?
Yeah, sure, I love the White Legs even though we can't join them, but they were a faction that just popped out of nowhere.
So I'd rather have DLC's and/or expansions focus on fleshing out lore that didn't get enough attention than getting more lore that doesn't get enough attention.

So what happens if the next game doesn't take place in an area that's near a place that's been covered do you just not buy DLC because it doesn't flesh out exsisting lore or will you still buy it.

Yes, because exploring new areas and finding more lore is a bad thing for canon.

I never said that.

Don't twist my words around.

I said I'd rather have more lore on something that doesn't have sufficient lore than to have new isolated lore.
So Dead Money? While a [censored] fantastic DLC, what lore did it really provide to help the overall lore?
It was an isolated place with isolated lore who's only connection was to another DLC with isolated lore.

I'm not against it wholeheartedly.
I'm just saying that I think that DLC's should be used to flesh out aspects of the game that needs more lore.
So Sierra Madre? Apart from Elijah, what connection does it actually have to the Mojave Wasteland?
If Christine had followed Elijah who had gone and stayed at Big Empty then Sierra Madre could have been scrapped completely and noboy would notice as it's lore hadn't been established yet.
What would be good is if they took a location that is mentioned in the game and made a DLC for that.
It means that the small piece of lore that has already been established is expanded upon.

It's not bad to have new lore like the Dead Horses and Ghosts, but I consider it wasted development time that could have been used for a Legion DLC or an NCR DLC down in Baja.

And I'd much rather have that than just lollygagging at some random place we've never heard about before.

I don't understand why all you want is more lore and canon. Can't there be places we've never heard of before, to keep the suspension? If you hear about the possible DLC's in a game, and they say things like "I hear it's full of mutants!" that would work out pretty well *and I believe Bethesda should take into account that atleast 2 of (the generally 4) DLC's should include lore and places we hear of in the actual game* BUT I also like going to places I've never even heard of

Something in Baja could be really interesting, come to think of it.

I also think a DLC about a former tribe in Caesar's Legion that is rethinking their membership and secretly debating trying to make a run for it could be interesting. It could show the various aspects of life in the legion, giving the player the information to try to convince them to stay, or make a break for it, or even help them do it. Or, if the player so chooses, lay waste to every Legion citizen they lay eyes upon...possibly even a chance to try and improve the lot in life for some members of the Legion. Perhaps a quest where they try to remind the head honchos that in its time, Rome was on the bleeding edge of technology, and that rejecting tech and medicine is very un-Roman of them.

I actually wouldn't mind seeing a return of Caeser's Legion, and also going to one of the islands like Hawaii or something could be interesting, surrounded by radiated water? Maybe there could be weather like hurricanes *now im just rambling..*

Well, just cause you've heard of a place doesn't mean you know what it's about.
We know that Ronto has a huge army and that it's envious of The Pitt, but apart from that we don't really know anything.
It's a small piece of established lore that can be expanded upon into much greater scope.

That's true and I don't really feel like arguing over this :s but yes, I could see more building blocks on some lore that we never got into. Hell it might even be fun if that word is in Bethesda's dictionary

I said this in another section but it fits in more here.. Oak island you go there with a group of treasure hunters who hire you as a merc/explorer and you have to travel there and start your expedition and get ambushed by a group of religious extremist searching for the holy Grail which they found out might of been left there by the knights Templar (they found out the location and idea that is a god or something by a holotape(s) left from befor the war) you then get a choice to help them or kill them and then continue on with the expedition and you have disable the trap and safeguards keeping you from getting to bottom of the hole but when you get there you find a huge weird metal object that transports you to some big library that gives you blueprints, armour, weapons and knowlage or it transports you into other places with loads of loot and enemies...

I've not read the Fallout 4 speculation topic, so apologies if this is in there but how about a DLC set in the Commonwealth? You could either join the androids fighting for freedom or the scientists trying to stop them - a "Blade Runner" DLC if you like. The Replicated Man was an excellent quest in Fallout 3 and this would expand on it.

I agree that the commonwealth should be a DLC. Maybe not so much fighting though cause that could possibly mean that the institute has an army of androids which would be an awful idea.

Ummm... why are we discussing DLC before the game? :ahhh:

We don't even know where the game is going to take place. It could be in Seattle or Chicago or Florida.

I was instantly going to shoot this down but I gave it a read, I like some of the ideas you purpose, mainly because you didn't just make it about destroying the Legion and say that there should be a chance to convince for the soldiers/citizens to stay. As for helping improve their lifes, how would you mean since the people are well protected (0 crime) and I assume, they have large farms devoted to supplying the people constantly, since a health women can't produce healthy soldier, and healthy soldiers can't protect the Legion.
I'm a bit iffy about the Legion employing technology, since they are already well trained in the use of firearms (though they're secondary) and without the hinderings of medical technology they have become naturally/physically superior to that of other people, and healing those that loss limbs and would otherwise die would put pressure on the system. A weak Legionnaire is a dead Legionnaire

BoS vs NCR, or Enclave vs Legion
*Green is the victors, BoS training < NCR numbers - this is already evident in lore. Enclave training & tech > Legion training and tech - Even with Legions larger numbers the Advance PA Mk.II used by the Enclave would be too much and the superior weapons they use would rip through Legion, this is also evident in lore ( Enclave/Lanius ending)

this sounds sort of crazy but what if you find a sciantist and time travel back in the pre-war era to gather plasma rifle specs for the brotherhood of steel or something.

Welcome to the Forum.

Maybe we should wait till Fallout 4 comes out before we come up with DLC ideas for it.

as much as i agree, maybe to pass time we could imagine and maybe inspire some ideas. after all some ideas are better then none. :)
