ideas for new perks

A perk that makes you eat bullets when you run out of stimpacks or other kinds of foods. Comes with the added (bad) effects.
I dont really know a name for it though.

Card Sharp- During Caravan games you are able to replace a draw card with the one you've selected to stay "up-your-sleeve". This perk also applies to black-jack.

About the rat thingie perk.
It only automatically unlocks the lock if you have the third rank.
We can only get 15 perks this time around, so seeing as how you have to pick 3 ranks for it I think it's a fair trade-off.

I'd like to see some perks that could be considered "specializations"... bonuses to specific weapons (maybe even individual uniques), bonuses to specific chems or foods, etc. This would allow you to personalize a character with likes and dislikes, like real peple have..

i would like to see more Specialized perks. but one for a certain unique weapon seems a little useless.

hmmm. i wonder if there will be a unique grenade machine gun

Mininuke Machine Gun. :P

Anyway, specialization perks.
Hmm how about:

Grenadier
You have a greater chance at finding grenades in ammo boxes and lockers, you know how to sweet talk merchants to sell them cheaper to you, and you get a +10% damage with grenades.

Twitchy Gunslinger
You get a faster rate of fire with all one-handed weapons excluding SMG's.

This should be based on Perception IMO.
With 1 you can only target entire body, with 3 you can target limbs or torso/head, with 6 you can target head and torso separately and with 8 you get some additional bonuses like targeting weapons, grenades in the air, other stuff, and with the full 10 you get the eye option in VATS which is the best one but the hardest one to hit.

Perception needs something.

Dude. Yes.

How about:
One eyed pirate: Perception goes down, but your melee skill goes up 30 points, and you can now find something called "gold"
You need glasses- whenever wearing glasses your perception goes up by 3
Whoaaaaaa- Whenever you take too much jet you start to see things, weird things

Not that this perk really does anything but it would be great along with the Wild Wasteland trait and great for a Jet-heat role.

I love that GabrielDan's idea would actually make glasses useful. Also, a perk to boost the effectiveness of glasses would be pretty awesome.

I think I heard something about a trait called "Four-Eyes", where you gain advantages from wearing glasses, but take a perception hit when you don't.

yes but so did fallout 3 until people complained and wanted more. So who knows they might make a dlc that extends gameplay and those would be cool perks. But the other factions perks could be alot of fun too.

Hopefully not.
No need for a DLC if the ending is good enough.

True but i still like wandering around with my characeter after the main story is finsihed. Like in fallout 3 it ends were it should just begin! So they added in a huge add on known as broken steel. After you completed the orginal story line you died, or so it seemed then you came back alive and there was lots more to do the water was pure and there was new quest that drove the enclave right out of D.C! Now thats kinda how new vegas should go. In a way anyways. Just make it so that you can wander around at the end and make the last mission feel like you did somthing. Because it says that the actions will afect the entire wasteland, well i bet the last mission is the battle for the dam. What happens after...?
