First of all, is there a big fan fiction community?
I need a little more info on why this alternate universe split in or around 1950. I've been watching "History of" vids on YouTube about it. Something about the transistor not being discovered for an extra 100 years? What allowed computers in our universe to get so small? In the games, the computers are pretty big...except these terminals you find, which confuse me. And the idea that instead of being able to make computers small, they put their efforts into making nuclear tech small. Well, can a nuclear reactor ever be MADE small? It's a fascinating idea.
I've been thinking of doing fan fic set in the area I live, the Carolinas. I ideas of secret research facility that has armors, etc, that were forgotten about, etc. I was also thinking about the stealth bomber technology, having just seen a program about the Horten Ho 229. Then I remembered the B-29 that sank into Lake Mead that's in New Vegas. Perhaps they never had stealth technology until much later? If you can say computer technology stalled, you could say that, too. Any ideas would be great. Thanks!
