ideas thread

Post » Wed Oct 20, 2010 10:42 pm

i was thinking that it would be good to have another one of these threads:

1.give some ideas to modders who are at a mental block in thier mods or cant continue do to certain things
2.give the people who cant mod a chance to get the mods they want
3.also you can say the ideas you have floating in your head that you dont have time to do

so post away! ^_^

sorry for "poet'em" my head wasn't on right :P

I think the idea hellmouth brought up in his thread is a good one; wrappings and bandages!

As in, wounds being treated, or mummies lumbering around, or corpses being covered, or what....

lol you posted in that thread wolli!

basically, the idea is to make clothing (or armor) pieces that look like bandages that your character applied to him/herself so you can better RP being wounded.

What does existentialism mean when mental and physical manipulation share reality equally?
What is the act of hating the other? somnist vs physicalist? It shares qualeties with racism.

But only if you define a race by it's origin and by what they believe in. Classically belief and race go hand in hand.

I need some philosophical input on this matter...

What would dreamhate be called? and what would reality hate be called? I have two candidates above but I'm not sure.

Oh and I need this for Kinscavion/Hexagonica. I'm stuck...

IRL, a few ace bandages won't save you from getting mauled by a bear.
In fantasy, even if you don't know/use spells, you still have scrolls/potions/ingredients/alchemy/enchanted items to help you out. That's magical healing, which doesn't require attention anymore. Unless you're roleplaying someone who doesn't use any of the above...

How humbling.

I agree with the logic of everything you said, but I still think it would be cool from an aesthetic standpoint to have the option to equip bandages on your character (I'm thinking ranger/thief types here)

Yeah, I'm starting to see what you're saying. Maybe not all ingredients have to be eaten, they can be applied within a bandage.

i'm getting a bit of an idea form all this bandage talk B) first i'd have to make the clothes, then add some scripting or enchantment or something sooo: you'd apply the bandages and they'd start healing you, differnet bandages for different things, etc. say you get some bone-rot (thats a disease in this game right??) and you'd equip some bandage that was just right for that (well it'd cure disease) like it'd LOOK like it'd help, have some wood or something going up the leg and it'd take up the ankle slot so it would give the effect of healling the bone in the leg, understand?

is it possible to script an item to cure a specific disease? I thought all diseases were contained within either the "blight disease" or "common disease" classifications.

edit: actually I think I get it. You would give it cure common disease and it would be more of an rp choice to pick the item that looks like it cures your specific disease?

thats probably good for a oneshot deal. as a matter of fact. in the right place that would be real nasty. will really keep that one handy. but i was thinking the enchantment to be continuous. but i really like that idea. make a crowded area filled with what appear normal people. put something irresistable to pick up. and then BAM!! really like that, thanks

Make it a quest from Sheogorath. Sounds like something he'd do! xD

I still hold out hope for equipable Nord drinking mead horns, and a seller located in Thirsk. A nice horm with gold scrollwork at the top.

A healer mod for those that are truly closet healers, with a reskinned set of tools like the picks and probes, to look like surgeons tools. Bandages, salves, and a Healer's Tower in the Grazelands that you must report to when summoned via letter. Either for advancement or admonishment. Would be great to find peppered people as I mentioned before, who are injured, extremely pregnant, or in need to be sent on their way, because their injuries are too great. Imagine having to heal Crassus Curio of an indiscretion. ; )

Wouldn't mind a tented longboat that I could live in occasionally, just to be very close to the sea.

Lastly, I would love for those that make companions to consider somtime, attaching their companions to a voice file, even if it uses an existing one. If for nothing more than the simple things, like "Yes?" "Hello?" "Help!" and sounds for injuries. Pity that some of the best ones are also some that are completely mute, like the Galith, the Markynaz, and Ice Sirens, and so forth. I'm sure there would be plenty here who wouldn't mind volunteering to make a voice bank. I know the Mrs, and I have thought about making an online one for mods.

You could put a timer delay on it to go off every 5 seconds or so whilst equipped...

A completely edited GenMod 3.0 dungeon that makes it look almost hand made, like something Bethesda would do, with scaling monster difficulty, 100 levels deep.

Kind of like the Undead Dungeons, which was done with GenMod 2.0 but not as large, and with less monsters.
I would like that to happen, but I lack the ability to edit mods besides adding armor/weapons/potions/spells/etc.

I didn't say my idea was going to be easy. :)
Who made Undead Dungeons again?

I don't know, I like exploring dungeons. And Dungeons that are compatible with monster adding mods are a big plus. :)
