Am I an idiot?

Hey guys, I was halfway through making my first a mod for Fallout New Vegas, which is a personal house in GoodSprings. When I wanted to test it, I saved it as a esp. plugin file in the data folder and loaded it up in the game. Everything was good so far, my house entrance appeared, the map marker showed up on my pip-boy. Then I went back to the Geck to finish it, I loaded up the New Vegas master file, and the plugin file, the Geck asked me if I wanted to load plugin file as a master file, I just clicked yes. After I finished my mod, I just clicked save as another plugin and loaded it up in the game again. Nut just the new plugin and the New Vegas master file, not with the old plugin too.. But this time it didn't appear. Anyone know why???

When you load an existing mod (esp) you MUST click the 'set as active plugin' button if you plan on editing it.
