Wow, just wow. The top reason for Dark Souls superiority is online mp, haha, what a joke. Another aspect that stuck out was the world. We all know that Dark Souls would never touch Skyrim in terms of world size and quests. This article is one massive propaganda hype to assist in the selling of the game.

I've never trusted IGN or reviews from most companies mostly.
If I like the game I will like it. I'm just here to have fun.

I like that they say Dark Souls will save gaming, because clearly the gaming industry is on the verge of collapse.

Why the hell would any self-respecting gaming website make an article like that? Honestly, how the hell does IGN still exist? Who goes there? How are they able to afford keeping their site up?

I mean, hell, I loved the crap out of Demon's Souls. I'm excited for Dark Souls. But why the hell do we have to bash Skyrim to put Dark Souls over? Why is that even remotely necessary? It's just douchebaggery.

Meh, Dark Souls... <_< Demon's Souls is the most depressing and confined game I've ever played. I'm guessing Dark Souls will not be much better.

IGN blows.

Lamo last point was basically: they both have dragons but dark souls dragons are better because they are in dark souls... whoever wrote this is just... I can't even think of a word for it without breaking into a herp-a-derp troll face.

You are forgetting that the website has many aspects including their semi-nvde pictures of supermodels / objectifying women section. That and paid advertisemant likely keeps them going.

edit: Also I wouldn't seriously call them a self-respecting gaming website

The fact is, there will be people out there who don't enjoy Skyrim. Some of them will prefer the more combat-focused experience of Dark Souls to Skyrim's broad scope of gameplay. Some will crave multiplayer.

In the end, it doesn't matter. Todd has been pretty vocal about Bethesda not having to chase trends, since enough people enjoy the massive single-player experience of games like TES that they don't have to. The sales of OB and FO3 certainly prove to illustrate his point.

The one sure way to fail is to try and please everybody, and the team at Bethesda seems to understand this (mostly...).

Gigantic pile of [censored] if I'm honest. That's just one big biased opinion, wonder how much he pocketed for that.

This is rediculous. I personally loved demons souls, and have had the CE of dark souls reserved since I heard about it, but its a completely different beast from elder scrolls. I think they will both be amazing games, but saying one will "beat" the other is like saying a Corvette is a better vehicle than a cardboard box. It's just not a fair comparison.

I stopped caring about IGN years ago. The only reason they're still so popular is because of brand recognition. On merit, they're pretty terrible game journalists.

Coincidence that both IGN and OXM come out with BS articles praising Dark Souls over Skyrim in a matter of days?

No, they are clearly being paid by Fromsoft. I really don't trust any sites other than independent ones because of these paid-for PR editorials.

In November, they'll just be praising Skyrim. When you compare the review scores, you know Skyrim will come out on top. It's just BS.

I wasn't sold on it being completely bias until I saw "Epic Scope" go in favor of Dark Souls.

It's one thing to write an unbiased comparison between the two but come on...
