I'm sure if the article was in favor of Skyrim, nobody would be complaining.

For the life of me I can't find the search function while using my phone so sorry if it's already been discussed but how about actually contributing to the topic instead of just saying use the search function

Yea I've never really trusted IGN it does seem like a very anti skyrim article

Because stating our opinions more than once is unecessary, hence the search function prevents redundancy, in which case this wouldn't be an issue. When a topic dies, we expect it to die. Not come back reincarnated as an uglier version of the piece of [censored] it was already.

Are you sure it isn't a reader's article ?
Its points aren't based that much on facts as in personal preference. Looks indead like a child wrote it.
BTW, I didn't even knew what Dark Souls was before that article. And I still don't know much about it.

Pretty much. These are the Skyrim forums we are talking about. But It probably wouldn't even cross peoples minds that Bethesda would have paid for said article to be made (if the tables were turned of course).

It's from Casey "IGNorant" Lynch, it's not news. It's publicity.

Look at the comments on the article. Those are coming from people on the IGN boards and not the official Skyrim forum. They are pretty much in unison calling out the journalist and don't agree with him.

IGN will probably say that MW3 is an original game with creativity and is a 9.8/10 and give BF3 a 7.5/10 saying it's a fun game with pretty graphics but isn't COD.

I mean it is IGN after all.

Yeah... but...

I guess I couldn't have summed it up better.

Oh and you forgot the whole 8.5 theory conspiracy of some months back.

Again I say:

"Top Five Reasons Angry Birds Will Peck Skyrim's Face!"

"1) Online Score:"

"2) Cheap DLCs and Holiday Expansions:"

"3) Epic Battles against a Pig Army:"

"4) Tight Aim and TRUE Challenge"

"5) BIRDS!!"

I'm sure if the article was in favor of Skyrim, nobody would be complaining.

It's that the author is so biased. On every single point, the lines he write about Skyrim are fundamentally negative from the very start. And he said DS is better than Skyrim because Skyrim has lengthy conversations (deep conversations is a part of RPG) and DS had cooler dragons (which are scripted)? And he said DS had free roam like it's something revolutionary. TES has been about free roaming since 1994! -.-

That's because the Elder Scrolls series has more fans than Demon's Souls ever had.

A bold move by IGN. Sometimes, I do agree with some of their articles but for different reasons. The way they word general opinions is "meh". We'll see how this plays out. ;)

I'm pretty sure it's coming for the 360 too, just not the PC.

That was one of the thing that upset PS3 fans; the 'sequel' to an exclusive game going multiplatform.
It's the same 360 fans felt when Mass effect 2 (and 3 consequently) started being made for PS3 after the xbox-exclusive Mass Effect 1.

Honestly, no. I'm a supreme Skyrim optimist, so of course not. I'll be the first to admit that. It's very telling though that another community, which isn't the official Skyrim community, is in almost direct unison calling out that journalist and the article in question. Very telling indeed.

When I first read the IGN article yesterday, I thought some script kiddie had hacked into the webpage and defaced it.
