IGN Review- my ideas on it

Post » Sun Jan 23, 2011 7:00 am

This reviewer has totally missed the point of this game. He obviously was playing SP with bots, so saying that you constantly have to change class to complete objectives is really a moot point. This game is meant to be played with a squad. Each class is essential for that very reason and your teammates should be working together to complete objectives. This game will only be truly judged when playing with human teammates and opponents. When the main objective isn't assigned to your class then support the person playing the class it's assigned to.

I got that exact feeling too when I read the review. I guess the 6/10 could be a fine and true mark of the singleplayer experience... I just don't really care about that, I am buying this game based completely off of the MP feel. Can't wait for friday!

Yes. Thank you.

IGN, Joystiq and 1UP should be ashamed.

The review threw me off completely cause I personally have no problem being a medic and escorting which ever bot is the required class to move forward in the mission. As long as you give commands everything works great

I got that impression as well, I'm going to be playing the MP almost all the time.
And I realized that he was talking about the graphical glitches before the patch, so he doesn't know how it really is. I have to wait a couple of days to play it though, because I got the free shipping from Amazon. But hell, I'll have the Psycho pack!

I just don't get how you can rate it down because of repetitive gameplay... Honestly, most MP games are, in one way or another, repetitive. I just can't see the reason why Brink is allegedly more repetitive than CoD deathmatch for example. In addition, there seem to be some reviews that read like a rant. Brink may not be the perfect game I wanted it to be, but 25/100 .... no words for that...

They didn't give a 9.0 to Black Ops. They gave it an 8.5.

My thoughts exactly - reviewers complaining about repetitiveness in a versus team game, when they have no qualms replaying a game like CoD:BO where there are no additional objectives.
In Brink the objective is to play as a team (involving a multitude of objectives). In most other games the objective is to kill everyone else on your way to point B.

I also have the feeling that they don't like having to work/share the joy with other team members, after all, there's no kill streak epeen either.

I'm thinking that Brink is the new Marmite (like MAG was before).

They completely ripped MAG as well, and MAG was much better than COD.
