chameleon 100%, unlike morrowind the nasties of oblivion don't seem to run away from a fight. that is why the stand around and let you attack them to death. they can't attack you and they can't run away. i came up with a confusion type spell. burden at 100 and chameleon at 100. may not work right, but this will at least explain why the nasties won't run away when attacked when you are at 100 chameleon.

also you can enchant melee weapons with command creature or command humanoid for three seconds. commands spells allows one free hit. great if you are into poisons because they won't attack or run away. and sometimes when they are dying due to being poison, they will fight for you..

You could try and use invisibility instead of chameleon for the duration of spell. Same effect but more mana-costeffective. Maybe give it a 1-2 sec of paralyze and/or mute spell effect for when fighting spellcasters. Prevent them from healing. Work great at those spider daedra thingies.

To be honest, 100% chameleon is a rather game breaking exploit. I understand its uses, but regardless if enemies run away or not, you're still gonna kill them.

Hear ya.

Experimented with chameleon at one time because i got fed up with reload. tried Kvatch at lvl 18.

Mobcount after drawbridge:
3 spider daedra
4 Daedroth
6 Clannfears
2 Frost atronach
1 Storm atronach
3 Fire atronach
2 Xivilai

Never finished that fight with chameleon because the results disgusted me. It was a slaughter. reloaded and used invis instead. Cast spells, dodge and invis.

Hit and run tactics.

Also like:
Invis
dagger with triple poison and paralyze effect

of course we are going to kill them. but if they run away, we have to chase them. i use poison to kill. means i have to know which nasties can resist that. plus i have to make the potions. meaning there is some work involved. i got to make sure i have enough potions. with chameleon 100%. they just stand there and let me club them to death, too easy.
