Images from pages 47 and 48

Post » Thu Mar 31, 2011 6:47 am

i saw a thread the other day claiming GI owes us 2 pictures .... was fooling around on twitter and according to Pete Hines the images from pages 47 and 48 are screenshots, not art .. real screenshots....
i couldnt help but look somewhere (if you know what i mean) else since my GI hasnt arrived. and was amazed.
if skyrim landscapes look that way, i think we have a real winner...

The mountains on 48 have been amazing everyone. Some still don't believe it's an actual screen.

yeah I'm actually amazed by the amount of detail in the graphics so far. have you seen that one good-quality screenshot in the most recent GI article? download the full image, open it, and look at it thoroughly. it's been 10 minutes I'm doing it, and I'm still finding new things lol.
it really looks incredible

There isn't a higher resolution version of the screenshot is there? Even more high-res when you enlarge the pic?

well there's the one along the article, and the one that's slightly bigger at the bottom (you have to click on it).

It's 1280 X 720, so while it's not quite hi-res, it's still a lot better than what we've seen before

No I have seen all the 20 screenshots in my GI and that one you're talking about was only a computer desktop theme, its not really Skyrim, he was just messing with you I assume.

If you're referring to the mountains on page 48, that has been confirmed to be a screenshot.

Pete doesn’t “mess with” people when it comes to Skyrim info. It’s a screenshot.

Does the screenshot mentioned appear from the perpective of someone standing on an opposing mountain or cliff?

How are we suppose to traverse those mountains though? I remember reading, "everything you can see - from the lowest valley to the highest distant snowcapped rocks - is traversable.

That obviously isn't true, unless visibility ends right where the Skyrim border stops.

Yeah, I was just being flippant. :) I certainly didn't know a lot of that stuff until I saw it on twitter. Hopefully people will keep updating that thread.

That wouldn't make any sense, if the scale is anywhere near realistic. The White Gold Tower is hundreds of miles away in "reality".

I think there should be heavy fog beyond the borders and if you walk in it, it spits you back with a few hours having passed suggesting you went around in circles and got turned around ^_^

And yes it is a screenshot and it's on my background. :P

GRRAAAAHHH!!!!

these "legendary" screenshots of mountains being brought up again?!

i am sick and freaking tired of not being able to see them!

i wish game informer would just post the images on their site already... i mean, i like the one of markarth side, but i have to see these mountains that EVERYONE thinks look too-real-to-be-actual-in-game-graphics, that they'd kill anyone who believes otherwise! :banghead:

...i think im bleeding.

It's really not an exaggeration. If I hadn't seen this thread, I'd find it really hard to believe that you could stand somewhere and see that exact view in the screenshot in-game.

The shot on page 47 with the dragon is even more unbelievable, IMO.

Hopefully you get to see them soon so you'll stop hurting yourself. :P
