Imagine this scenario...

Post » Thu Oct 13, 2011 5:12 am

You have finally got your hands on a copy of Skyrim after months, maybe years of waiting. You are literally shaking with excitement as you take it home just gazing in awe at the cover art. You finally get home and pull off the plastic wrapping and open the cover for the first time and see the game disc in all it's glory. You put the game in your Xbox 360/PS3/PC and then load the game. The title appears, Skyrim's epic theme music begins and you get a rush of giddy excitement. You press "New Game" and prepare yourself to play the game you have been waiting to play for so long....and then BOOM, the power goes out, won't be back on for another 24 hours.

My likely reaction process
 What?
:shifty: Heh, nah that didn't happen...
 Hmm, ok still not back on huh..
 Ok, I'm getting [censored] pissed now
:pinch: AHHH!
:( This is the bull [censored]
Then I'd move on and just chill out and look at all the information on the cover and maybe look through the game manual.

How would you react?

Nope, I guess it could be: How would you react?

You have violated the forum

Edit: I will stick my fingers in the plug until the power comes back again, the electric shock will be my alarm clock that I can now finally play the game

Well, ok. Surprised you would care about me that way.

I suppose my first concern would be to make sure everyone in the house knows not to open the frig because I wouldn't want to lose any frozen foods. I would also make sure no one flushes the toilet unless it's a solid since we have a well and if the power is out so is the pump. I would check to make sure the water I have stored in the garage is there, in case someone forgets and flushes anyway (or goes number 2). We (the family) may go out to eat if nothing is available in the house that doesn't require cooking or is in the frig. I'd pull out the playing cards and play Casino with my daughter (wife doesn't like card games, and she'll just go shopping anyway).

I will not worry at all about the game. I still have it. It will still work. And I know the power will come back on sometime.

Aren't we allowed forum games here? Why?
This wasn't really meant for that though, just getting this idea out there that popped into my head.

Lol, I could actually see that happening as I've got those [censored] rings 4 times in the past.
I'm getting it on the PS3 probably so it's all good.

Read the manual, several times. Then a book. (We have enough light to read right?)

I've had the power go out for 96 hours around here. Granted it was due to a tornado walking down TVA's high-voltage transmission lines and turning hundreds of those big towers into metal pretzels... but still, 24 hours, while unlikely, isn't out of the realm of reason. I suppose I'd spend a lot of time browsing the web like I did when the power was out those 4 days. Granted I have a better smartphone now than I did then, so it'll be even easier, but there were also issues with cell coverage due to the tornadoes. This was late March of this year in northern Alabama.
