Imga vs. Tang Mo

That makes as much sense as having a [censored] trading post in Washington D.C. for Iran, Cuba, and North Korea that is placed right next to a fuel depot with a sign hanging on the front gate that says 'No, we're ok.'

Thanks for that non-sequitur Roaming Nomad. I have not visited the Iranian, Cuban or North Korean Embasies on Washington DC. I suspect they exist whether or not they are currently in use simply because the US recognises the countires exist whatever it thinks about their regimes - and generally all trading partners have embassies of one sort or another. Why should it be different in Tamriel?

Generally major diplomatic presences have 2 locations. One is the Embassy proper where the Ambassador resides and the other is the Consulate that deals with citizens of its country and their personal needs re certification etc ...

I would expect there to be some sort of representation in the major cities of Nirn if only because teleportation makes instantaneous travel possible despite whatever limitations are artificially imposed by different regimes - and given the size of the Empire and its fleet and trading nature - the importance of Embassies / other appropriate stations and their likelihood only increases. At the least overseas trading partners would establish trading offices there.

As for emnities? all the more likely to have representation - right up to the declaration of hostilities.

Nah, it's more like there's embassies, but do you really think that there's anything behind it? The Tscaesci are invaders. You don't invite invaders. Maybe, in a time where there are guns and regularities from stopping people from walking into places with said guns. But not in TES.

I have nothing to base my idea of tang mo other then the words proud monkey folk, which remind me very much of "A journey to the west". When I think of Imga, I think of goofy looking Ape men, patches of hair missing, shaving nicks, and very tight elven clothing. Truly awesome Storyteller! :D

There is some dev artwork that suggests that the Imga may favour loose and richly embroidered robes - maybe even overly ornate! They are really into being Altmer and that can make then endearing in their loyalty to their beliefs as well as ridiculous. But also adamant in their detestation of the Bosmer yoke. Think of children dressing up in their parents' clothing, except that where the Altmer are tall the Imga are broad. Perhaps royal or church state apparel with all the trimmings for a leader would be a fair description - with extra intricacies and ruffles. Yeah, childlike. and do not forget that children can be very strict knowledgeable about the things they believe to be important.

Roamin, it's been about 10 years since I read that, so I hope I get the spelling correct, but Vesuda Shae? The Potentate - former Chancellor and Emperor of Tamriel. They might have changed the Lore since - but although he was a scheming so-and-so I believe he was not the most unpopular Emperor - he was a Tscaesci, right?

I kinda think there are 4 Lores minimum necessary to properly represent any society, Lore that is for:
the cognoscenti;
the rulers;
the common people;
the riff-raff.

You can probs add to that.

Maybe according to the numbers and sophistication of the different kinds of Lore available you can decide the importance of any group or organisation at that time in a game.

This usually gets mentioned in a Tang-Mo thread.

Watch it because it's exactly how a bunch of monkeys would take over the world.

edit:

Better link.

the real question is which would be more likely to throw their poo.

on another note, i'm thinking that the 'mysterious akavir' book is about as relevant as the daggerfall book 'the wild elves'

What's the difference? Imga fling poo with an overhand throw. Tang Mo do it underhand.
