Immersion in Fallout

Immersion is both a hot topic in today's game world, and considered a necessity in an RPG such as Fallout.

So I was wondering, how do you think Fallout stands against other games in terms of immersion?

What Fallout game do you think is most immersive?

Is Fallout immersive enough, too immersive, or not immersive enough?

If it needs some work on the immersion factor (it does imo), any ideas on how it could improve?

I think Fallout is the most immersive game in the series; certainly the more terrifying.

Fallout 2 and FO3 too much camp IMO; especially when you include the time travel, and the crashed shuttle crafts in those games.

Fallout 3 is the most immersive for me.

I completely agree, they should take a far grittier and dark take with the next game like the feel from the Lonesome Road DLC in New Vegas.
