My immersion is going to be ruined if my character isn't...

...decrepit like Mr. House! After being in a tube for 200 years if he or she isn't emaciated, shriveled with long white hair and beard (if male) and horrifying long curled finger and toenails I won't be able to enjoy this game!

Regardless of an obviously different preservation process?

Cryonic Stasis means never aging.

well it does matter like we might keep more of our freshness if we were frozen with preservatives.

Well, look how it turned out with Big Mt. He made the right choice, and considering he's conscious, a better one than even Valut Tec could handle.

I also thought he was joking. On a side note, I am disappointed by the amount of people who are claiming this game is so hard to roleplay around. Personally I think its one of the easiest yet.

I can tell you first hand a lot of people SAY they want a hardcoe experience. If you look closely at the numbers, you realize a lot more say they want it than the ones that actually do. For some reason, theres this glorification around gamers who play games "hardcoe" by making their characters do meaningless tasks like eating, sleeping, drinking, taking showers, or even pretending their character is themself. So, a lot of people on various forums just say "Oh yea I'm a hardcoe gamer" because they think it sounds good even though a video game is meant for entertainment so in a singleplayer game...you can't be impressive. Its a status thing, I swear. Half the things people pray for in a game make absolutely no sense and if they stopped and thought about it for two seconds they would understand why 99% of the people buying the game would not want it.

All of the above is a stereotype. There are exceptions, people do exist who like making their character eat, drink, or sleep. However, the ones that seriously enjoy that ask for it as an option because they are being somewhat logical and understand how small a minority they are and understand Bethesda is in the buisness of entertainment and must appeal to the majority first.

That being said...there is another complicated issue. Some people, who just like to call themselves hardcoe gamers, will actually select the hardcoe option just to prove to everyone else that they can (hence, why trophies/achievements should remain private for single player games). Then, they end up wasting their time with meaningless tasks they don't have time/energy to do and end up with less entertainment than if bethesda just didn't include the option at all. Or they end up ruining their experience going for the platinum trophy/achivement which might have "Beat the game in hardcoe mode". So...sadly. Sometimes to appeal to the masses bethesda really should just leave out some possible hardcoe options. Not to mention how those options may end up taking up time they could use for something else. In all honesty a hardcoe gamer would probably be playing it on PC with mods anyways...

So let me make it clear for all to see. Having your character eat, sleep, drink, and go to the bathroom does not make you better at the game than me.

House needed to be concious for decades upon decades to further his machinations. You were supposed to be in storage.

Besides, think about FO3. All the bodies in the VR pods were in great condition, despite the fact that all (bar one) of them are Pre-War.

No they weren't. Their models were, but that's likely because Bethesda figured it pointless to create custom models for actors you weren't supposed to be able to see clearly.

It's clearly stated during the conversations with characters like Braun that the people in Tranquility Lane would die if removed from the pods, as their bodies were unable to support them. They should have been in the same condition as Mr. House, according to the lore. The VR pods were essentially keeping their brains alive in order to prolong their psychological torment.

I will be unhappy unless my character is a frankenstein zombie cyborg werewolf vampire with invisibility and laser eyes. .. .. and has magic witchy powers.

correct me if I'm wrong, but the only problem of brains bots is the lack of exchange of preservation fluids, right?

That's not what left the whole think tank crazy?

House would not make that mistake. The guy is probably the greatest mind that appear in the lore.

because his preservation method does not make him immortal and still turn him in a vulnerable target. To ungrateful couriers =p

Immersion would be ruined if you didn't actually have to have your computer on 200 years before you step out of the chamber.
