Immersive armors dirty edits

Post » Sun Sep 08, 2013 9:03 am

So I downloaded Immersive armors today and ran it through BOSS and got this for one of its esp files:

  • hothtrooper44_ArmorCompilation.esp Active
    • Contains dirty edits: 7 ITM, 0 UDR records. Needs http://skyrim.nexusmods.com/mods/25859 cleaning. A cleaning guide is available http://www.creationkit.com/TES5Edit_Cleaning_Guide_-_TES5Edit.
    • Bash Tag suggestion(s): {{BASH: Delev, Relev}}

So should I clean this myself? or leave it be?

Advice that can be applied to any mod:

1. Check the mod's readme to see if the author says that the mod has been cleaned. If the mod has already been cleaned, then skip step two.

2. Open the ESP in TES5Edit and check which records are reported as ITMs. If the records turn out to be stuff that obviously shouldn't be a part of the mod, then you can probably safely clean it. For example if a mod changes the appearance of an NPC, but also has several ITMs on GameSetting or ImageSpaceModifier records.

Don't do anything until you contact the author chances are it has been cleaned and they are there for a reason. If you clean it yourself you could make things much worse. If the author needs to clean it let him do that as he knows the mod better than you do.

If something comes back as dirty i clean it anyway even the official patches and update come back as dirty but d still let the mod author know so the next time then update the mod they can clean it and ive had no problems so far.

I'd say follow the BOSS advices on this. If it SHOULDN'T be cleaned, I'm pretty sure BOSS would note it, especially for such a popular plugin.

You should clean the ESP. The ITMs in there are not intentional.

i downloaded that last night as well, and if im not mistaken, it clearly says in the description NOT to clean it.. many said this, because the aauthors thoroughly cleaned each file... You should check, but i think this was the case
