Immersive Fast Travel ideas?

Post » Fri Dec 04, 2015 10:58 am

so I'm currently 60+ hours into the game and haven't used fast travel so far

but now I'm actually starting going past Diamond City, which made me actually realise how huge this map is

visiting Sanctuary costs already ~10 minutes of time and I feel like there'd be a better way to handle this

is there someone that limits himself in 'fast travel usage' but still came up with a 'realistic' immersive idea on how to do this?

I'm actually thinking about allowing myself to travel from my settlements to my other settlements that already have a supply line between them

what do you think? :D

it's a shama Bethesda didn't give us another option, rather than the simple 'you can fast travel anywhere anytime' :(

You do get a way to fast travel in an "immersive" way that actually have an explenation and "logic" behind it a bit into the main quest. So if you do more of the main quest you should eventually get this.

Vertibirds are also another way to fast travel. No loading screen, you actually fly across the map to the location.

Something like this would be nice. I loved not fast traveling in skyrim, I would instead use carriages as an in game fast travel option that also costs money. Way more immersive for character building if you ask me

We should be able to build a motorcycle so you can fast travel in style alone. You can't use it with companions because that would make it too op. If it has dirt bike suspension that would make it viable on the terrain.

The map isn't big at all lol

Filled with content, yeah. Not big. It's pretty easy to just not use fast travel at all.

Spoiler
Yeah, you only activate that when traveling to and fro that specific organization. It's not how you fast travel every time.

I'm too much of a hoarder to not use fast travel. Im usually full of just after 10 minutes of exploring.
