The side quests, to me, kinda helped kill off interaction. People kept getting into their own groove and was completely detached from what else was going on and eventually most ended up dieing or coming to a dead end,

I'm not in this RP but I'm just giving my opinion. Side-quests that have nothing to do with the siege shouldn't be in it because it'll just distract people from finishing up this siege. It's a mini-RP, not a main one IMO.

EDIT: Thank you for putting it simpler for me Tidus lol

Well, the Siege of Rihad is kinda the wrap up for KSS, not really a full blown RP.

I may join with a knight character, but since I'm leaving on a two week trip to Ukraine tomorrow, then a 4 day trip to Seattle a couple days after I get back from that, I figure I shouldn't join when I won't really be able to make a good post for a while. If there's a good point for me to join by the time I get back from those trips, then I will.

I'll need to make some army sheets. The number will be about 20,000 to 25,000 and at least for Rihad's side I want to have one army sheet for the entire city rather than individual ones. And then out of that, whoever is on Rihad's side can take troops and use as needed specializing in wherever they need to be.

I'd like to be involved in creating the Rihad one, since I've got a pretty heavy role on the defending side.

Talk with everyone on Rihad's side if they want to have input and make one if you want. Then send it to me, i'll make whatever modifications to fit some of my own stuff in and then we'll just have a "Rihad faction" army sheet rather than 3 or 4 different ones.

One thing I want to add on is to make use of Rihad's local troops as well. It isn't just the knights fighting. The knights are more like the navy seals/special ops of the army.

My original Rihad sheet did have local troops.

Before I do sign up I have a couple of questions. Can you tell me a brief story of what happened so far? And is the Imperial legion involved in this or just the knights of the nine/Hammerfell Loyalists?

I'm sure Tidus will show up and fill in the fine points, but for a basic list of events just find the latest "Knight, Sword and Sentinel" thread. There's a point form list of events, plus a description of the history between SoS and KSS.

There's also a wiki.

The scene of the current RP is the Yokudan Empire invading the Rihad Confederation, which is ran by very Imperial leaning forbear nobles (who have asked the knights for protection - the knights are really there for their own personal interest). The Confederation navy was captured by the Sentinelian (or Yokudan Empire - as they are called) Navy. A blockade has been on Rihad for at least a month. The Yokudans are really pushing now after the assassination of their queen (Haroun's wife) by the Confederation. If you're wondering who this Haroun guy is, he is the King of Hammerfell.

http://i77.photobucket.com/albums/j76/Titus-lord/Hammerfell-Imortalblood-draft-1.jpg

^The above map has the Yokudan Empire outlined in red and yellow (though Yokudan wasn't shown - Haroun united with the small settlements remaining on Yokuda following Sentinel's independence from the Empire a few years prior).

http://www.gamesas.com/topic/1313371-the-knight-the-sword-and-the-sentinel/ <- Former RP thread (don't read the whole thing). Just look at the events if you've got any questions about anything. It should answer some of them.

Ruhk Ahkbar’s Forces (14,550)

The Sentilian Army of Stros M’kai (8,500)

Stros M'kai Royal Infantry, "Roiyaru ashigaru" (1,000):

The Royal Infantry of Stros M'kai wears full steel lamellar. Officers wield silver Scimitars while grunts wield steel scimitars. Their shields are made of Steel as well. Each man is recruited and trained, making very professional effective soldiers.

Stros M’kai Militia Spearmen (2,500):

Militia soldiers who have some training. They are taught often to hold the line in battle, armed with an iron spear and iron side arm of their own, which is usually a sword, These men are drilled as a unit, being a destructive and effective force axes and other weapons do not go unseen. These men are armed in leather lamellar padding, and carry an iron shield in addition to their weapons.

Stros Slingers, "Suringazu" (1,500):

These very capable light troops are armed with three slings of various size. They are covered beneath light armor, which is usually formed of leather lamellar armor and rugged cloth. Famous for their abilities, these men have top quality light infantry capable of harming others from afar. Once close in they will use a falcata and light wooden shield with great effect. Their main quality remains their skill with the sling which has been known to be as accurate as to strike soldiers off of city walls.

Veteran Militia Stros Heavy Spearmen, "Omoi yaru" (1,000):

These men are armored in iron lamellar, bearing large iron spears and holding their own side arm, which is usually a type of sword. They are the basic heavy troop of Stros M’kai’s military, using their pointy weapons to fend off cavalry charges. These men are militias of Stros M’kai, but many in this group fought in the War of the Wolves, making some of their soldiers veterans.

Raga Militia shortbowmen, "Shoto shashu" (1,500):

Though not as effective as the archers of High Rock or Valenwood, these archers are armored in leather padding, holding a short bow and armed with 30 arrows in a leather quiver. They are used for warding off small cavalry charges. They have less training than their arbalest and crossbow counterparts, making them less organized. Still, these are men with weapons, and are still quite capable of killing someone. For a side arm, they carry a small wicker shield, along with a falcata or another type of sword. These men are pulled from the citizenry, but have a bit of training, enough to use a bow effectively.

Island light infantry, "Kaeru no dansei" (1,000):

These light infantry are armored in leather padding, equipped to be a mobile and agile fighting force. They carry wooden shields along with a respective sword, as well as javelins. They are effective at a close-distance ranged combat with their javelins. When in close combat, they are also very effective, and can beat heavy infantry if they have enough space to maneuver. These men are trained and disciplined well within the army, and even have a specialty at amphibious combat, which they excel in.

Ruhk’s Personal Forces (350)

War Elephants, "Gajah riders" (20 Elephants. 4 Crew members each = 100):

These large elephants are armored with plated leather for some decent protection. They were paid for through Ruhk’s own personal income, which also funded their training and the training of the men who use them. One man is the specific driver of the elephant, who often bears a sword and shield of his own as a side arm. This man is an officer, and also directs the others. The elephant carries three more javelin throwers and a large number of javelins. A “tower-like” platform sits on top of the elephant.

Stros M’Kai Honor Guard, "Onagado" (100):

The Stros M’Kai honor guards are fearless, emotionless, and extremely lethal soldiers. They are rigorously trained from the age of 8 until they are 18 to be the best fighters on the battle field. They study everything from military tactics to the art of the blade. All of the Honor guards are masters of the blade and have learned to use it to its highest potential. The Honor Guards are dressed in white tunics and pants with reinforced light mithril plate armor. These men are religious zealots, dedicated to serving Tall Papa. They are also a bit radical, feasting on the hearts of their enemies after battle. http://images.wikia.com/dragonage/images/3/3d/Heavyfemale3.jpg similar but almost white silver ). Upon their faces they wear white expressionless masks (http://hisnamenotmine.com/wp-content/uploads/2010/12/white-mask.jpg) The Honor Guards carry a version of a sleek two handed sword, however the handle is quite a bit longer. These men are kni (similar to http://www.swordsdirect.com/high-elven-warrior-sword.html) this allows for more control over the blade and for quicker attacks.

The Order of A’tor (100):

These men are members of the Order of Prince A’tor himself, each one clothed in adamantium lamellar armor, accompanied by a personal helmet of their choice. Symbols have been drawn on their armor, showing an ancient Yokudan sword on their briast plate, accompanied by crescent moons which run down the shoulders. Each knight also has symbols of his own, which are personalized according to the knight’s background and accomplishments. These men carry a weapon of their own choice, often of the expensive sort and usually a sword, accompanied by a usually expensive shield of their choice. Their weapons and shields are also made in such a way to be personalized for the order. When mounted, the men carry steel lances. They are an effective fighting force and hold themselves to a code of high honor. Their stunning bravery is rivaled by a solemn few on the battlefield.

Imperial Army Attachments (6,200)

Grenadiers, "Shuryudan-hei" (300):

These men are equipped with a small wooden shield and a simple sword, being armored in simple cheap leather. They carry a bag of powder bombs, in which are lighted and thrown, exploding into the enemy on impact, sending shards of iron into them. These units are only effective at a close range, but are deadly if used in the right manner.

Akuma Light Cavalry, "Maunto akuma" (500):

Lightly armored mounted men, these tend to be armored in padded leather. They ride quick and agile horses, bearing shields and several javelins. Each of them boasts a blood red shield, along with a respective void black mask. These men carry a scimitar as a side arm. Their highest ranking officers boast a red cape, which boldly proclaims the crescent moon of sentinel.

Kumarza Monzoku Riders, "Jigoku kara shishi raida" (200):

These men ride a war beast called the “Kumarza”, a breed straight from Yokudian soil. It looks somewhat like a furry horse, but more wolf and vicious like, intimidating its foes. The mounted beast carries a scent much like those from a camel, which scares away horses. The men which ride these are coated in Yokudian black steel lamellar armor and wield long bladed naginatas, along with a falcata for a side arm.

Imperial Heavy Cataphracts, "Kinzoku Raida" (800): http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cataphracts

The Imperial Cataphracts are covered head to toe in full iron chainmail, bearing a pole arm, shield, and a side arm of their choice (usually being a scimitar). These men are drilled as a unit, being a destructive and effective force. They make their mark as more city-like and urban Raga, and have the capabilities to match the heavy cavalry of other nations. They ride large war horses, capable of trampling any man.

Imperial Army Elite Arbalesters, "Misairu no dansei" (500):

Armed with the heavy and deadly handheld arbalest, these men are covered in lamellar chainmail. They are the most skilled archers of the Empire, being trained by the Anticlerians themselves. They carry about 30 heavy bolts, capable of firing at high velocities. With armor piercing bolts and a deadly aura of skill, these men are capable of making simple limp corpses of those who oppose the Yokudan Empire. The arbalesters are disciplined to the maximum, holding to their effective formations and orders unlike any soldier the Yokudians have wielded before.

Sentilian Crossbowmen, "Shutazu" (1,000):

These men are a less skilled and lighter, less effective version of the arbalesters. They carry a crossbow, which is less powerful than an arbalest, along with medium bolts. These men are armored in leather padding, and carry pavisse shield across their back. Though not as effective as the arbalester, they are not to be underestimated by the opponent. These men, though Imperial soldiers, do not receive much training.

Aja Him Akulab (200, 200):

These men are from the Yokudian continent itself, masters of the tamed beasts. They train the “Aja Him”, a dog and wolf like creature native to Yokuda. These creatures are somewhat larger than regular dogs, and have been taught to fight on the battlefield. They are plated with armor, and their masters are also equipped with their own protection: red and blue leather lamellar, forged in Yokuda, along with a mask of the same color, in the shape of the Aja Kim’s head. They carry swords as a side arm. Each trainer accompanies his own dog onto the battlefield, commanding it in the most ancient, distinct Yoku language and commands. These are being used as an experiment to determine their battlefield effectiveness.

Imperial Professional Infantry (2,000): These Sentinelian professional infantry are swordsmen, equipped with a wooden buckler and steel scimitar. They wear chainmail armor with the addition of a steel mask. These men also carry their personal belongings.

That's a whole lot of professional troops from Stros alone...

Didn't we already have this discussion when you posted your last Stros sheet?

EDIT: I just noticed you had 2500 militia I didn't spot in there, but I still think the ratio of professional to militia troops is a little skewed.

Will everyone be a'okay if I mix my old troop sheet up to reflect the new 'instadrive towards Rihad' direction instead of the old land slug, since it's been a bit since KSS and nomads aren't much use both on ships and in sieges, plus you can't exactly transport kagwola on ships that well (I presume that's how we're arriving at the party, rather than just sort of walking in awkwardly). The numbers will stay at around the same 3000ish I had, just mix the nomads up with some Forebear levies from the coastal cities.

I reduced the number of professionals FROM the last sheet...

There are only 2,000 troops from Stros that are professional. The rest are Imperial soldiers. What do you want me to change? You want me to take out some of the Imperial troops?

Hmm, I've had a couple ideas for a character which i could play in this RP.
Would a Sword-for-hire brought in by one of the factions be allowed?

I wouldnt feel comfortable posting as someone leading hundreds of men as i'm new to this whole roleplay thing, but i'd be able to manage with either one character, or a unit.

They have been in the past, so I would have to imagine they would be now.

Good to see more people interested in getting into this. Be warned though: if you drop out unexpectedly/don't post for several weeks/months you will be hated forever by everyone here ;)
