[RELz] Imperial Castle Meshes

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 7:04 am

Some assorted meshes I've had laying around on my computer for a while now. Not all were perfect, but I've fixed the issues and find them worthy of being released.

1. INSTALLING THE PLUGIN

*****************************************************************

To install the plugin, unzip the files into the Morrowind/Data Files
directory.

*****************************************************************

2. PLAYING THE PLUGIN

*****************************************************************

This is a modder's resource so you'll have to add these files to your
mod.

Various meshes for arrowslits. Non-functional, but they're nice for
aesthetics.

A set of double-height "Big 4Way" meshes to create more atmospheric and
larger halls.

A round platform mesh.

An imperial-style brazier with a planter based off the same mesh.
A larger planter is also included based off the imperial altar mesh.

A set of walkway pieces that could be used for waterways (original dock
bridge will snap together with these) or dock fronts.

Two rails, long and short for various uses.

Another brazier, but for outdoor usage.

Three re-textured "common" window meshes for use with imperial forts.

*****************************************************************

3. Notes

*****************************************************************

Both braziers can be set up as "light" objects and used just as
any other brazier in-game.

Texture replacers will work with all these meshes.

Feel free to use these meshes however you see fit. Most of these
are just reworked and modified from Bethesda originals. The brazier
and small planter are the meshes that are new.

Please email any comments, suggestions, or questions regarding this
plugin to ghostnull@hotmail.com

Oh, looks great! Will these take texture replacers we have installed? What fun building imperial things will be now with such a wide variety of meshes around!

Thanks!

Well, I used Rapidshare for a more permanent place for this resource. I didn't want to upload to the major sites just yet.

Would a yousendit.com link work for you, Melchior?

EDIT: removed obsolete link

Ah, I forgot to mention that. Yes, they will work just fine with texture replacers.

Awesome! Some great new pieces to make my castle interiors out of. Thanks a lot!

And I've always been concerned about those arrow slits... it never seemed right having nothing like what's in this resource - but now I need not worry! :D

Thanks, glad people like them so far.

Quick question, has anyone tried using these yet? I'm a little worried about the texture paths. I checked and double-checked them before uploading them, but texture paths have a habit of going awry on my computer.

Don't you hate it when some silly modder comes along and releases a resource you could've used in a project long ago :P

Suppose that answers my earlier question about possible, troublesome texture paths.

Hmm, a Grand Council chamber retrofit? Interesting...

Yeah, it all works fine and lovely in game.

My first job doing interior work - I'm pretty proud of it!
Only thing I couldn't figure out is how to make an access to the balcony - is it only possible using the spiral staircase bit?

I'll make a small release if there's enough interest.

Yeah! They should have the decency to use a time machine, sneak into Bethesda's office, and place these resources directly in the game data before it's published! :D

Nice.
This will go nicely with that old imp mesh pack that had double height and length halls, and secret doors. The major problem with that one was there wasn't a railing for the big 4way entrance. I always had to hand place imp blocks to cover the open space.

That kinda sounds like it might have been mine. If so, I just re-released it on PES, because I hadn't thought anyone ever found it on my website.

I do, and I'm glad to see you finally uploaded it to PES.

Thanks princess_stomper for the topic change!

Changed the name of the topic and download as it's not limited to interior meshes anymore. Included some new meshes in the package for outdoor use.

Check the first post again to see what has been added.

EDIT: PES link up!

I like the new additions to this a lot. Those are something that have been needed for quite a while. I'm sure Regaez will also put them to good use somewhere.
