Imperial City Pack #2

I am currently collection various resources for my project, especially for the vault. I may need assistance though.

Could the community please point me to some useful resources, please? What i am looking for is resources (models) appropriate for the sorage in the vaults. Here are some ideas, just for orientations: golden sticks, bags of gold coins/gold/silver, open chests filled with gold/silver/valuables, piles of coins ... Of course, if you know of any other resource that would enrich my vault, the whole mod, or basically any idea at all, i'll be glad to hear from you!

I think mr_siika's necropolis tileset comes with some piles of coins. You could try those.

Just saw this thread and thought I'd take a look and WOW the work you've done is absolutely amazing, just want to ask a few questions thought as I didn't see them covered. If using BC for all the other cities except IC would your mod then work along side BC and is it compatible with za_bankmod and Apachii Goddess Store?

@crash_oxide, can you please give me a link to a latter? I was unable to find it. And about the bankmod (that is the one that places a bank in the Market District, right?) ... as expected, that one is not compatible. I wonder why would one want two banks in one city though, especially when mine is so much prettier ;) .

That bank mod you listed I've never used that, didn't even know another one existed :unsure: but yes the one I was talking about is the one in the Market District just opposite Stonewall Shields it's actually called http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3172 and here's http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=13437.

EDIT:

I didn't see a bank mentioned in the description...have I missed something?

Ok, i'm not going to go into the whole mod, because it's really big. But according to screenshots, the mod only tooks the wall house in Waterfront that has blocked door and replaces it with an ordinary wall house, plus that arcane tower at the end of the Waterfront wall? If that is all, then it is compatible.

About your edit, do you mean in the description of my mod? Yes, it does add a vault. My mod is a one-download for everything in the IC, all the important infrastructure and NPCs. Therefore i have the advantage to do everything in the same style and connected to each other. For example, someone might make a mod placing baths in the Imperial City. But i can make them alive since all of my NPCs that i add (there are quite some of them now) can visit them daily. And i can place them so that they will blend in perfectly with other architecture. Same goes for the vault. Look for the screenshots on my posts in this thread. Unfortunately, a lot of other screenshots have been lost with my old thread :( .

The Market district is particularly good, IMO.* Not to say the rest isn't also good, btw!

Nice to see a different take on "reimagining the IC".

That is an advantage and a rather good one as well, you talk about bring things alive would it then be possible so make the inns and hotels active then, I mean we see the odd person downstairs at the bar but would you be able to actually make NPCs rent rooms so if we creep in and pick a lock there's a chance on someone being in the room or in the bed sleeping?
Also about the BC compatibility (you didn't answer) it's possible to use your mod for IC but BC on all the other cities with no problems?

It is definitely possible. I'm not promising anything about the first complete release though, because i added A LOT of new houses, and i have to fill thouse with NPCs first. Only after then will i have time for people without houses staying in the tavern's rooms.

About the BC, sorry, i forgot to answer: yes, what you're proposing is possible.

OK I done a few checks with some of the mods I'm using, Clocks of Cyrodiil and Thievery in the Imperial City both seem to be fine, there wasn't no obvious issues with Thievery entered the shop spoke to the merchant and all was okay. Apachii Goddess Store, there's a problem with the door, it won't let you enter its just an inactive wooden door but that mod also has as sewer entrance and exit which has no problem and when in the store you can exit the door normally you just can't enter it.
Bank of Cyrodiil as you said I don't think will be compatible as there is a house right where the bank would be but I ain't tested it, Ruined Tails Tail looks fine as well he approched and spoke to me with no problem but http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20218 has a compatibility issue in the isles just outside the prison, there's quite a big gap in the walk way.

Those are some of the mods which I use and effect the IC so if you could possibly patch them then that would be good, Market District is fabulous BTW but it did have a big FPS hit on me :(

This is looking very nice; I particularly like what you've done with the Waterfront and the Arena district. I already use ImpeREAL city revamp in my current game, and I know you said you weren't planning any compatibility patches, but I will definitely keep my eye on this for a future char/playthrough.

The vendors in the street of Market District is a pretty cool addition; what happens to their wares at night? do the vendors go to sleep somewhere?

I don't know if this has been asked, but what about T.I.E. compatibility?

A suggestion; what about putting some apartment buildings in somewhere. They could be "high rises" of several floors up with small apartments for rent (where some of your new NPCs could live) the player could buy/rent an apartment as well. It would be an alternative to the tiny waterfront shack.

Anyway, nice looking work so far! :goodjob:

A word on compatibility.

I know that you are all nice fellas and you don't mean to be disrespectful of my work ... but you are. Let me make this clear; the modder and the community are always COMMUNICATING, and both parties contribute to the conversation. A modder makes a mod, uploads it, writes a description and numerous posts, takes screenshots and uploads them ... all those things take A LOT OF ENERGY and are my (and of other modders) huge contribution to the community. And for this amazing system that runs without money directly involved, but solely on passion of modders, demands the other party, that is you, to give something in return. Maybe download my mod, write something positive about it, present some CONSTRUCTIVE CRITICISM, tell me what could be improved, point out or make a resource. Something that is HELPFUL to me. Let each give a little of your time and energy, just a bit. So why rather than treating me like your little ass slave for figuring out compatibiliy problems, download this mod and test it out for yourself?

No offence, right?


@ElricWulf, every new NPC has his own house in my mod, and full AI. At night, they remove their merchandise from their stands and lock their chests, then they go home. Also, i've been thinking of making a place or two rentable, but didn't put much time into it. You could also get a small apartment as a reward for success in Arena, hence making the Arena career and fame more valuable.
@richardrocket009, sure i can. That would be 5 interiors in my mail inbox. Unless you prefer texuring, then i would love to have some new custom meshes for the vault doors and valuables. Scripting help is also welcomed.
