The backlash from this is going to be enormous, it would not surprise me anymore if it DID go F2P in 6 months. The MMO players are going to be annoyed they have to have a paygate AND P2W stuff in a collectors edition and the TES palyers are going to be annoyed because it screws with what they said and with the lore

Well in fairness the increased speed might just be from getting the mount faster, and it will certainly be faster then running. Though I'm fully behind burning down the internet over the Imperial race thing.

i assume there will be other mounts to match this one speed in the long run but now i am starting to think this game will in fact have both a sub and cash shop, and i mean real cash shop

Imperials are famed for their diplomacy skills, makes sense that they'd join any faction.

Anyways, they weren't meant to be playable from the start, so this is a nice little bonus for whoever wants to invest in it.
People saying Imperials have always been playable characters in TES don't know what they're talking about.
ESO is before Morrowind , even, the game where they became playable.

I thought they were quite adamant that they did not want a pay to win game from the start. And now we have faster mounts and unique racial abilities for real currency. Is it one person making bad decisions for the company, or are they all going crazy?

My guess is that the mount is probably a basic mount maybe with the different skin. Their mention of faster I assume just means faster than running.
