Imperial Guard Look

Post » Tue May 03, 2011 7:49 am

I saw this picture in another topic talking about the new look of civilian colths and I noticed what looks like an Imperial Grard around the upper middle of the picture. Take a look http://i801.photobucket.com/albums/yy297/b_harrison/skyrim/skyrim_gameplay_village.jpg
He's a guard or a soldier of some kind, and judging by his Roman look hes with the imperial legion. Speculate.

Edit: I also like the look of the old lady. Looks like their making old people actually look old, and not just a young person with winkles.

Looks like a Blade too I think. I don't know, there's nothing that really shows he's an Imperial soldier. Similar looking armor and color scheme I guess, but I wouldn't say it's definitive.

I was thinking this... maybe they changed the look to resemble the heroes who protected the Empire during the Oblivion Crisis?

Blades wear Samurai looking armor, that's clearly Roman style. He looks a lot like the Imperial guard in Morrowind.

I missed the roman style for the imperial legion from Morrowind. I hope it returns.

Reminds me lot of Morrowind, where I would be walking around a town, and see the Hlaalu or Imperial Gaurds and be like, "I want that armor!"

It could be a matter of armor not evolving much. If the armor works, why redesign a proven set of armor? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. Why should armor design be any different?

Or it could be that the NPC just came across an Imperial corpse and looted the armor.

I doubt that Bethesda would allow something out of the ordinary happen ahwhilst capturing for the trailer :)

Like a few other people said before, it looks alot like the guard armour from Morrowind, which I really liked... (and it looks really good in this picture too, and isnt there a picture with a windmill and there's another guard looking figure walking I think north toward solitude? [where the picture is being taken...])

More than likely an Imperial Guard, but my question is, can anyone get a zoomed in pic of the person on the porch to the left of the guard?

I noticed that guard too, I could be wrong but it looks like they went with the Roman style over the generic medieval look this time around. I really hope they did.

The person standing up/propped? I think in the actual video it shows him/her walking of the porch towards where the guard is coming from.

It looks more like a local guard than an imperial guard to me. Imperial guards usually have the imperial symbol on their armor, This guy doesn't. It also doesn't look much like a Blade to me; but The Blade's tend to wear whatever they want a lot of the times when they aren't on "official" imperial business, so there's no way to really tell, but the armor is definitely not the type of akaviri armor that the Blade's wear as their standard armor. But I do agree that he looks pretty cool regardless of who or what he is.

Ooooh, the guard's left.

Yeah, I was thinking of the porch sort of off behind the guard.

The guy between the character and the guard is definetly an elve. Zoom in to it using ctrl and mouse scrollwheel (look at his ears). And it looks like it has a beard too = D

EDIT: And it looks like that on the carriages there are watermelons or lettuce so, watermelons/lettuce CONFIRMED!

^This.

The best look an Imperial Guard can have is him bathing in his own blood :)
