Imperial Saints

Post » Fri May 13, 2011 11:22 am

So I know that the Nine Divines Cult has saints, St. Alessia being most prominent, but are there any others? I know about the Tribunal saints, but aside from a small blip in one of the books (cant remember the one atm) saying that there were others, I havn't seen any mentioned. Can any Loremasters help me out?

He was a Champion of the 8. Plus considering his actions I would doubt his sainthood.

Considering his actions I would consider him a saint.

Saints in TES are a little different than the saints of the real world.

I"m well aware of the difference. But can demigods even be saints?

Good point. Although, I think Pelinal is referred to as an immortal hero, while Morihaus was referred to as the winged bull demigod. IIRC, thats from Trials of St. Alessia.

I'm unaware of Pelinal being called a demigod.

Generally you have to be a god to be immortal.

He is referred to as the space god sometimes as well. Besides his severed head could talk, I think that you would need to be pretty holy to pull that off. :P

I thought thats why he was called the immortal hero. Though, I do not know the criteria for demigod or immortal hero. Maybe their not that different at all.

Or unholy. Martyrs, and those within the cult who keep the commands are likely candidates for sainthood.

As far as Pelinal goes, he was Shor incarnate, so he was loftier than a champion. The most recent Champion of Cyrodiil (assuming he was made the Paladin of the 9 divines) would be the incarnate(?) of Pelinal, so he would be more on the level of immortal hero or at least a saint.

Could one be an immortal hero and a saint? I would think it possible.

Depends on how they're remembered, so yeah.

It's likely the Emperors given their own gems on the Amulet of Kings are revered as saints. I'm pretty sure that each one is devoted to a single Emperor, even though the souls of all the Emperors are collected within the Amulet as a single soul.

Yes they can. Saints can be worshipped. And everyone is talking about things don't matter.

Regexp for Notepad++ on OB dialogue export
search ^(.*saint.*)$ replace XXX \1
search ^([^X]+.*)$ replace " "

I'm Errandil, Living Saint of Arkay, and the Chapel's chief crusader against the wicked practice of necromancy.

I am Olava the Fair, Mara's Living Saint. It is my responsibility not to preach, but to live Mara's commands as an example to others.

Well, stranger, anyone ever tell you the story of Torval the Pilot, the High Elf who discovered the Niben? The patron saint of Leyawiin?

Saint Pelinal, the Divine Crusader of legend

Below the Chapel of Zenithar in Leyawiin there is a shrine to the great craftsman, Saint Kaladas. Those seeking the Mace must pray before the shrine.

Centuries later, the master craftsman Saint Kaladas built the Chapel of Zenithar in Leyawiin as a tribute to the legend. When Saint Kaladas was laid to rest, those who prayed to Zenithar at his tomb began to receive visions of the Mace of the Crusader.

Tiber Septim is the god and patron saint of our order. And now his dynasty has come to an end. It's very painful.

I was wrong.

After making my last post I remembered that each of the Tribunal were indeed named Saint of Healers or Saint of Rogues. A Saint sets examples of behavior. Anyhow, gods can be given the title Saint too.

Could Tiber Septim also be considered a saint before he became Talos?

In theory, Lorkhan was a saint wasn't he. Not so much an aedra or daedra

Lorkhan was a saint, i think, but in my eyes i think Pinlinel Whitestrake, Tiber Septim and others before him and Martin Septim, and the Gray Fox, who claims to be the reincarnation of Talos

Saints are typically (originally) human exemplars.
