A lot of people have complained about attacks on the slog settlement. If the attacking force is charred feral ghouls after the attack investigate the forge down the road that's where their coming from and there might be straggler around... It worked for me and i Hope this helps someone else as well.

The Slog....

seemed like a cool place to build a settlement around. 200+ hours in, main storyline completed long ago, i finally got the quest to make it a settlement....i hate Preston

mmm several attacks came from 2 different directions... so you need a good defence...at both sides... at the road and the opposite side.

mostly super mutans and dogs.... love them by the way

You do realize that you don't have to wait for Preston's pleasure? If you stumble over a suitable settlement, or already know where it is, they give you their quest and join you, with ot without Preston.

But, nobody at the Slog gives you the quest to make them a settlement...at least they haven't for me, yet.

There is an even easier way to make it a settlement though...kill all current occupants.

there is this factory with all the Forged raiders, that respawn each few minutes, south of the Slog :/

the keep fighting over and over with each other especially if you have a provisioner who has to go south

I have every settlement except for 2 (still haven't started the main quest) and Preston is still in Concord. This is my 5th restart but in prior ones i've found if you clear out a location they were going to send you to, right before you stumble into the place, they wont activate the quest.

Probably had tje worst attack on the Slog the other day. At least 5-6 Super Mutant Primus all armed with Miniguns. Completely destroyed all my crops one of my big water purifiers and most of my defences. Only one settler killed.


Was extremely pissed.

I usually always end up with the Slog friendly towards me before Preston sent me there. You just have to talk to the right person to get the quest to help them.

Which is not that hard, since he's the only named one.

Well, there are a few named characters at the slog. But they all tell you "Wiseman" is the one in charge around here, so good luck guessing who to talk to.
