Improving the Elder Scrolls titles.

The past Elder Scrolls title have been pretty much the same. We have seen similar combat gameplay, we have seen the usual level-up system with minor tweaks, the graphics have become better.

The Elder Scrolls titles doesn't really improve all that much, all that is done is pretty much just a copy-paste into a new setting and story.

But I gotta admit, personally I have a hard time finding places where they could actually improve the system. i really liked that they did the minor tweak with the perks and the level up system, being able to build your character however you want.

What can really be improved?

To me the game is pretty good, but I feel that it still lacks.

What I think bethesda should work more at, think more about, is how to improve the AI system, we need a much better reputation system, Skyrim have a devolved version of past reputation systems. We may be a handful, but there are certainly some who remembers having defeated Alduin, been the defining factor of the war deciding which side has to win and who loses, became thane of every city and then you take a stroll down, wanting to join the companions (albeit perhaps quite late in the story, but it happens) and then you will hear Vilkas saying "I have never even heard of this outsider". It says itself, in order to improve the reputation system, one would have to improve the AI as well, but how is this accomplished? Sadly, I do not know. However along with it should come an improved romance system, because the romances in skyrim are so very dull and I would love so much more out of it other than a small buff.

Look at games such as The Sims and Dragon age.

The Sims is a game that have constantly involved, they have tweaked and improved features while also adding new features along with providing a much more pleasing graphics. Dragon age too improved, while origins have a far superior story compared to dragon age 2, dragon age 2 had far better gameplay mechanics and bioware have stepped it up and further improved those gameplay mechanics in dragon age inquisition. Both series can be dull or entertaining, that is not up to me to decide and that is not my point either, my point is that we see an obvious improvement of both series, not only graphically, but also gameplay-wise.

I would like to see Elder Scrolls improve as well, problem for me is just, I think it is perfect as it is, the combat, the free roam world with various quest to suddenly run into.

What it lacks is something that have been lacking developement - better AI, we need to get more focus on improving the AI and I hope that bethesda will be the ones to throw a much better AI out in the gaming industry if they are to release new Elder Scrolls games.

It also needs a team that is less dependant on the modding community. Don't get me wrong, this is one of the many reasons I like bethesda, to give a tool for fans and players to create something new and perhaps be able to be inspired by those creations of these modders, it is absolutely amazing and quite smart too.

But you seriously need to release games with far less bugs and errors, the modding community can only fix so much.

This is my take on what Bethesda can do to improve the experience when playing any elder scrolls titles, a quick sums up - improved AI system.

That is pretty much all to me.

Do you think that there is somewhere they could actually improve their series?
