I guess this would be the right place to recommend The Mob Law, an indie/alternative/punk/hip-hop group from Seattle. Just heard about them the other day, they're pretty good.

I don't really see how indie, experimental, and electronic music would go together that well all in one thread.

Clearly you've never heard any experimental electronic indie music. :teehee:

Seriously though, indie doesn't just mean that 'indie rock' sound. That said, indie and electronic go hand in hand together. And on that note, just about anything can be considered experimental if it, well, experiments with different things than what's being done at the time.

I've really been digging Geneviève Castrée's new album she put out as ? Paon, Courses, since it came out a while back. It's got this really strange, almost dark tone to it and all the looping can make it a bit trance-ish at times. link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qtofusdc5vk.

Yeah, I thought the same thing and had a look of  on my face when I read the thread title lol.
That, and we have like 4 different Electronic Music threads that all get posted in and resurface once every few days.

Wow, very interesting... plus it's local talent (Québec, Canada). I know it from the title.
I listen to http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8R4FOu25o9o, I found it hard to like at first, but eventually, it grew on me. Love their poetry (in french).

Animal Collective - My Girls: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zol2MJf6XNE

I always thought My Girls was pretty mediocre. It was the song that thrust Animal Collective into the standard hipster's music library, but in my opinion, there are far better songs on that album. Summertime Clothes is my favorite.

I just really like the structure of the song. In The Flowers is probably my favorite song on MPP. My favorite AC song however is The Purple Bottle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bV_g5kmvvSk

Ah finally a good place to suggest Sioum. Found them after getting in touch with their drummer, who's a friend of mine from High School, and its great stuff. Picked their debut up the day it was released, and haven't looked back.

Nice, I'm going to check out their other songs.

There's an instrumental postrock band called Blackstork which is pretty nice. Their demo album can be downloaded for free http://www.last.fm/music/Blackstork/Renaissance+%28demo%29%2C+2009.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qVOMbttw-tA is pretty cool too.
