So, at Eurogamer this weekend, there are a lot of videos out obviously, and in one of those videos, you see the character blacksmithing at a forge. Looks great btw.

But, the thing that caught my eye, through the shaky cam footage and bobbing heads moving in and out of LoS of the video, the character is flipping through what appears to be the blacksmithing menu, and what does he pull up?

He pulls up a pauldron. A single, lonesome pauldron. Not attached to a cuirass, not attached to a piece of a set, but a SINGLE pauldron, denoting that you can indeed change pauldrons through smithing. Or at least this is what it appears to be. I can't imagine any other reason why they would have a single pauldron on the screen as an option to change and forge unless you can change them.

Good news! Discuss. Note that this has been heavily speculated on, because of screenshots and different cuirass/pauldron combinations, but it has NEVER been "confirmed" by a dev, so I think this video gives pretty good proof.

Just for reference, the pauldron that he pulls up is http://www.uesp.net/wiki/File:SR-character-Gameplanet_wLegal.jpg pauldorn, but again, it's JUST the pauldron, not the chest piece, and it's only ONE of them.

Great news. I was pretty sure from the different armour configurations we've seen that something similar would be included in the game, but it's nice to have something to back up my instincts.

Those look like gauntlets/bracers to me, not pauldrons.

Edit: Hang on, I might be wrong...

So we can add pauldrons through smithing, but not have them as seperate pieces that we can equip as individual items?

Wow I just noticed that many of the pauldrons on the armor pics we have seen look like they strap on top of the armor, and they often don't match! Maybe pauldrons are in the game to replace greaves???

Actually, I'm pretty sure it's not a single pauldron but iron armor with a pauldron(The pauldron is in front of the iron armor). If you look in fullscreen, and in 720p (hint), it also says "B-something Iron Armor"
Also it weights about 30, and it's value is 139. A bit too much for a pauldron.

I'm watching in 720 and I'm seeing nothing but a pauldron, no cuirass. I mean I could be wrong, but I'd bet money that it's a pauldron. Also, this is an alpha build, stats and stuff aren't done. What you see isn't what you get, and they've said that before.

Yes... it shows one pauldron. But in the actual gameplay, two will be equipped, not one singular one. How do I know? Because when 11/11/11 arrives you'll see that this is indeed the game design choice. Not to mention I read somewhere from Pete ages ago that there are no equippable single pauldrons.
