ok so i ran through doing quests and such. I have decided to do the nine quest. after i found the required alters. but to my dismay my infamey is to high to requip the boots ! i am such a bad man lol infamy of 57 is there any way to lower this ?

Did you complete the pilgramage? If you've already done it but since earned any infamy points, you'll have to complete the pilgrimage again. http://www.uesp.net/wiki/Oblivion:Pilgrimage will tell you more about the pilgrimage.

No worries.

If you complete the pilgrimage your infamy should be wiped to zero. Which is good for the KOTN, but you won't be able to get those points back. Just so you know.
