Infinite reinstalling on Steam

Post » Sat Nov 28, 2015 12:58 pm

The game keeps reinstalling 27Gb over and over again , i have not been able to play since 10 nov.

I own the pipboy edition with DVD and installed the game with the given Steam key through steam

I know more people have this issue and i am damn tired of not being able to play without using a cheat to bypass steam.

Is there anyone who have had the problem? and if so how did you fix it.

****** Please NO responses from people without the issue , i am pretty much a computer/windows pro since 1984 and do not need useless "guess what it is" responses *****

Whenever I have an issue with a game wanting to install something over and over again when I try and start the game via Steam, going into the game's main directory folder and deleting any .VDF files solves the issue 90% of the time. Might be worth a shot.

Have you tried verifying the game cache?

I shouldn't need to tell you how to do that seeing you are a pro right? (Just poking fun, don't take this seriously.)

i deleted app cache and also deleted clientregistry.blob .. either one did seem to help as it's not redownloading the game again .. thanks for the hints

Hopefully that fixed it :D

I had an issue like yours a couple of years ago with Torchlight 2 having a corrupt patch download and deleting the appcache solved the issue for me. I hope it is working for you.
