Ingots and Wild Bill

Post » Sat Sep 04, 2010 1:45 am

I don't want to look this up on The Vault because it's my first time through The Pitt, and I don't want to end up spoiled. I have been through that bleepin' bleep Steelyard four times, through the supply plant, and all the way up to the top. Everett has told me there are still ingots to be found, and I haven't found Wild Bill, either. The only place I can't get into is the Power Plant, the grate entrance for it says it requires a key. Are the remaining ingots and/or Mr. Bill within? Otherwise I guess I just have to keep combing the rest of the Steelyard...?

Skirt,i dont want to spoil the surprise or anything,but you have to take a staircase (i believe,its been months since ive played FO3) and there should be a crap load of ingots and if you take a left i believe,there should be Wild Bill

Cheers

If you cant find it,PM me,and ill go back to my save there
Or you can contact your nearest NCR ranger,which ever is easier

Wild Bill is on a staircase and that staircase leads to more ingots. Hope you're not afraid of heights. Wild Bill can fall through the ground but that usually only happens on PS3.

The grate to the underground only comes into play if you choose a certain end path. There aren't any ingots in there. There are three located in the Abandoned Area if you haven't found those.

NCR references come up a lot and I don't get what they are...is it a NV thing? I haven't played that game yet either.

Back on topic -- I went alllllll the way up to the top, there was a mountain of ingots, but no Wild Bill. I killed a bunch of "Wildmen"...but definitely there was no one up there. :(

In a totally different topic a while ago, someone suggested there is a hole in the ground in the XBox version too, but alas, I don't know! I'll look for him one more time and then just give it up. I went through the abandoned area but I don't think I found the ingots, I'll check again.

Sorry about the NCR reference,thought you had NV

But anyways,its not in a hole in the ground,and ive you have gotten attacked by "Wildmen" you have gone too far.

Go back to when you first go into the area.Then walk all the way till when you find your way toward a staircase,then you should keep walking till you hit a wall,then take a right,and then look around over there,Wild Bill should be there.

If not,contact the Enclave.

This is my first time through The Pitt, it should be obvious that I am a year behind ;)

Okay, so I just need to do some more climbing, haha. Does he come up as a friendly on the radar? Or am I looking for a body...? I will say I assume I'm looking for a corpse.

He's long gone by the time you enter The Pitt,hes a corpse.

P.S,when you get NV,take NCR's path

If you climbed up a staircase and found one of those bamboo-looking Wildman settlements on the roof of a building next to a blue metal door, Wild Bill has glitched out of your game. You can't get there without tripping over him and the two ingots beside him. There's a video walkthrough on Youtube of how to glitch yourself out of the map and get to his body.

He isn't there. I'll have to watch some videos about how to get to him, he's fallen through the floor :(

Dang. I had my fingers crossed that he was just hiding from you. Stupid floor-falling Bill! :(

Is there any way to bring him back or would that just work for the PC? :unsure:

Only with the console are you able to revive dead/missing characters. This is an irritating problem when non-essential NPCs die for whatever reason, making it basically impossible to achieve 100% completion. At least, that was the case with Oblivion...I don't know if FO3 has a 100% completion achievement on XBox o_o

I can see how annoying that would be. :flame:

I just checked in the back of my CE Fallout 3 strategy guide and that was not listed as one of the Achievements, Skirt. A small solace, I guess.

ghouls -- thanks for that link! You're so sweet. I will check it out and at least be able to finish that part of The Pitt, even if I don't find the million billion ingots :P

How many ingots have you found? What's the last item Everett gave you? That quest is so freaking annoying. I collected them all twice (used a guide :P ) but now I stop at 10 or 20.

Ummmmmmm good question. Now that I'm done I can look at the Vault.

..the Vault isn't helping much right now. I don't remember what the last item was that I got...I didn't pay enough attention. Metal blaster armour? Metal blaster? :P

Skirt, I checked the GOTY guide(yes, I bought both :blush2: ) and it says that there are a total of 100 ingots to be found. If you find all 100, you'll be given an achievement called 'Mill Worker'.

The following are the items you are given and how many you need to get them (SPOILERS...MAYBE?)

10 Ingots------------->Laborer Outfit

20 Ingots-------------->Filtration Helmet

30 Ingots-------------->Steel Knuckles

40 Ingots-------------->Metal Master Armor(sounds like this is where you're at, Skirt)

50 Ingots------------->Metal Blaster

60 Ingots------------->Bombshell Armor

70 Ingots-------------->Leather Rebel Armor

80 Ingots------------->The Mauler

90 Ingots--------------->Perforator

100 Ingots------------->Tribal Power Armor

I hope that helps you with this quest, Skirt. :)

Oof, you have a long way to go. Unless you just want the achievement, once you have the Metal Blaster you might as well quit. It's all the beastly weapon you'll ever need. Go shoot Overlords in the head with it ;)

I'll stop being the little devil on your shoulder urging you to quit now :devil:
